I also agree with Sloughflint and missjennipenni.

People should be aware that on another thread in the last few days Tandraig posted the PM's that she had sent to and received from another poster, without that poster's permission.

In my opinion, a promise of discretion from Tandraig should be treated with the utmost caution.

Alyth, have read the whole thread and I think you are remarkable! The only way is up now girl!!!

I agree totally with Sloughflint, Errata and missjennipenni too, Tandraig what you done on the other thread was way out of order, I really dont think you should be asking posters to pm you anymore. You broke a trust.

Agree with the above, sadly. Please be wary.

blimey, nothing like a witchhunt is there?! Is it completely frowned upon these days to show some compassion/understanding to fellow forum users? I have invited people to use PMs when perhaps sharing something may make it easier, but the subject matter and content isn't something they would want broadcasting to the world. Does that make me a person of questionable motives? I agree posting PMS on the board is wrong, but without seeing the context of your accusations I won't pass judgement (and nor should anyone else in all honesty).

I understand in this day and age that people should be wary of strangers and people they meet on the internet, but it's not like anyone's followed her every movement on here, groomed her etc etc etc rolleye0010.gif

  • Pet, Tandraig asked someone to PM her in confidence, then she posted them all over thread? I don't understand how you can b compassionate to someone who does that? Breach of trust

like I said, I haven't read any other thread or seen anything to suggest it so I haven't passed judgement.

If someone points me in the direction then fine, but in all honesty if someone's confidential information/posts/messages have been displayed it is out of order on the part of the person who published them, and quite frankly I'm not sure I want to be privvy to what was written.

My point was/is that just because someone invites PMs does not mean they are untrustworty.

I agree with you that not everyone who invites PM's is untrustworthy but Tandraig has proved that this is the case with them.
The posters you quoted were only advising caution when PMing with Tandraig, they weren't saying anyone else was untrustworthy.
I too share PM's other posters of MSE and wouldn't dream of making them public.

I too agree that Tandraig should not have posted private PMs and do not condone it in any way.

It seems to be out of character though, she/he PMd me about something a while back and did not broadcast it. So they are not in the habit of doing this, I don't understand what made them do it tbh. It's just a terrible shame as they often give out sound advice IMHO.
