My student advisor guy knows and I will speak to him this week just to update him of the situation. He was really good when I spoke to him last week.
If you're a bit under the weather when you take your exams please discuss with your SA as college can decide to take that into account when your papers are marked. There's a latin phrase for that, which I can't rememberbut it translates as 'He was sick'. It can make a difference.

Hi Errata,
The phrase you're looking for is aegrotat. My mum's translation is, "He/she was ill," which you must admit is short and sweet!

Hello Alyth.
Sorry to drop in on your thread - I've read it all and am very impressed by your strength, determination and good humour. No advice to add as you've had great ideas from here, so go girl...best of luck with the exam results.

Hi Steph I am fine - nice to see you again!
He didn't come into work tonight, so I'm assuming that is the end of it. His friend did however and gave me the cold shoulder, but I can live with that, my safety is more important than anything.
I'm impressed by your latin knowledge MSB, must remember that word!
Thank you again to everyone for your support, I know I keep saying it, but your advice and support has meant so much to me in what's been a frightening experience. I need to speak to my tutor tomorrow about Thursday's exam as I don't feel confident enough to sit it, but it's not important in me passing my course so I think I can delay sitting it for a week.0 -
Hi Alyth
Glad you are doing OK and I hope you get some leeway on the exam situation.
Also just an idea... ignore if not helpful... when you have the new arrangements sorted, would it help to have a 'ceremony' for your clean, safe home? A candle in each window, some beautiful music loud enough to hear throughout the house, and if you tell us when we'll raise a glass with you and send you safe and happy thoughts...

Got to admit I am sleeping with the phone and a carving knife at the moment!
I told a couple of people at college today, and strangely one of the girls had had a similar experience to me - an ex that wouldn't leave her alone, hers was rather more frightening in that he broke into her house when she was out.
Flossy you did scare me, but that scenario couldn't happen in my case, for reasons I don't want to post, but it's amazing that once someone posts something then there's always some horrific experience that someone has gone through. The guy has a weird relationship with his wife which the whole place knows about, she's never ever come into the shop that I know of, and they don't speak to each other, so I should be okay from that perspective.
The girl at college though with the ex said that even now she sleeps with a baseball bat next to her bed - maybe I need to take a measure like that just to reassure myself!
For a while, after I left my abusive ex, I slept fully clothed with socks but no shoes so if he turned up I wasn't naked and vulnerable and was dressed well enough that I could just leave and get to a public place. I never bothered with weapons other than a rape alarm as I figured, he's bigger than me, he can just use them on me.
Your situation is different but you're panicking about others stories. There is no need really for you to have a weapon as you have a home invader not a threatening predator (to your knowledge.). Just try and make sure you make a note of how you've left things so you can consciously tell that nothing has been moved and no one's been in. Once you can reassure yourself that nothing has changed, you can feel your area is safe.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
