Hello everyone - im so overwhelmed i dont really know what to say ........except thank you for all your support......

I was so low yesterday - i dont think i've ever been that low in my life and i have been through lots - ............believe me.

I actually spoke to a lady today who is going to do all my accounts and book-keeping for last years/this coming years accounts.........shes on holiday until a week on Monday and then i have to ring her to make an appointment for her to come and see me, she worked in an accountants for 20 odd years and seems to know her stuff - she told me not to worry - she sounded really nice........

Heres the catch tho' - i HAVE to sort out the old 2004/2005 accounts before she can start - she's basically given me the 2 weeks to answer the accountant's (!!! hole) questions and get those accounts submitted so she has something to start from for the following years.............im so scared tho' - it's a total fear of the unknown am scared of cocking things up good and proper - ive developed a real phobia it seems.........

Anyhow - i've got to sort this mess out as no-one is going to do it for me - i would like to tell you all that i feel much better but that would be a lie.......

Thanks all of you...............love dotty xx

  • Hey dotty,

Its brilliant to hear from you and it sounds like this woman's help is really going to make a difference.

I know its tough, but you might just have to take the bull by the horns and get stuck in. If you do what you can then submit them then you've done your best. I think you are right about the phobia - its built up into such a big thing in your head - and you might just need to take some time out and get stuck in.

    Scottishspendaholic's instructions for dottyanne tonight:-

    * A wee browse of MSE and chat to friends
    * A nice tea - can someone else cook or do you have anything in the freezer?
    * A big G & T or glass of wine
    * A hot bath and pampering with body lotion
    * A chat on the phone with someone you love - a sibling, your son/daughter, an old friend.

Did you think about any of the suggestions on here about getting yourself a part-time job (didn't you used to clean for someone when you first posted?) or thinking about whether the business is really viable?

How are things going with the CCCS?

    Love and hugs

You can do it dotty - of course you can!! And when it gets too much you can always let off steam to us :)

This woman sounds great, that reduces the workload for you. I know how you feel, putting something off builds the problem into a bigger and bigger worry in your head. Try and make a start at least (even if its just 10 mins of sorting papers or whatever comes first), you'll feel much better.

What's the worst that can go wrong? You put a wrong number in. So what? That can be corrected later. It's not like surgery where you have to get it right at the time. You get it wrong - it'll be corrected.

the joy of accountants dotty is that its their job to notice mistakes so panic not. Take a deep breath. Sort things into lovely date order piles & go from there. Can DH or friend help you sort; from reading it looks like the fear, rather than the act of sorting, is crippling you, as it can all of us sometimes. If you make a mistake it wont matter as accountant will check for you, thats what you pay them for, even if he is an !!!****! Big hugs for you. I know you'll feel so much better when sorted cos at least them you know what you're dealing with but as said previously it's really not worth hurting yourself over. Did you see the prog (panorama) a while ago...how devastatig for his wife not to have had the opportunity to have helped him & she would have told him that it was just money & was dire to watch. Please go & see your GP because it does sound like you are depressed and need some support (other than that which we can give you!). Big hugs and as I said before if you want a chat pm me your no...Have you told OH how desperate you are feeling? Please share with him as he would want to support you as much as he could but cant if you dont tell him...humongous hugs!

    That's more like our dottyanne.

You will feel better when you have got the information together for your new Accountant.

Hi - sending BIG HUGS to you, please remember 'money is the root of all evil' - cheesy quote but true, you are worth more than money and have many friends. Good luck with the accounts, thats my job too, she'll sort it out for you.

Right! As an accountant.... No hold on a minute, I am only learning... Sorry keep dreaming I already am one. Well, I would say, for your accountant to do her job, she needs a starting point, so of course she will ask you for stuff. Just get them bank statements in one pile, cheque books, invoices, receipts, whatever you can and I am sure she will do the rest for you. 20 years of expirience! I'd say you have nothing to worry about. Trust me amount of books we have to read and sooooo many financial controllers to report to before we get there, I am sure your lady accountant will be fine with it. If you lost half the stuff doesn't matter really, guestimates are always an alternative. Did I just say that?! Hey, just do not tell anyone. Seriously you are going to be fine. So glad, you have found everyones messages comforting. See you tomorrow, HUGS & Kisses. Have you noticed how everyones HUGS are actually working! They work for me anyway. Hugs to you again. Think I've got verbal diarea today, sorry.

    Hi Dottie

I remember about 10 years ago I felt just like you and my debts then were about £1000 but I'd never owed anyone anything before. I remember I used to sit at home and cry, I got really down and I explained everything to my now hubby and he just said 'It's only money, f**k it'. But I couldn't. i got more and more depressed as the days/weeks/months went by.

One morning I got up and had no life in me at all, no energy, I was sad, depressed, lost weight and everything and I just knew I had sort myslef out so I just said it "IT'S ONLY MONEY, F**K IT!"

I decided that I wasn't going to have my life ruined by it and just somehow 'made' myself feel positive. I phoned the companies I owed money to, TOLD them I couldn't pay and I was in a finacial mess and they could like it or lump it ... and I worked out a plan with each about £1 per week until I could afford more and I instantly felt like I had the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders ...

... that was years ago and now??? Well now I somehow have debts of nearly £7000 but SO WHAT!!!!!!!!

Ok, it's not an ideal position to be in but they will get paid off ... eventually ... when I can afford to.

I am alive, i have a fantastic husband, I have 2 wonderful children, we are healthy, we smile, we laugh and we share good times.

So next time you feel low, think of the good things and think F**K IT to the rest ... it's only money!!!

    Good Luck
