Went to look for BM dresses yesterday, as I ordered one from China which looked gorgeous in the pics but when it arrived, it was weirdly shapeless... my sis tried it, put a brave face on, but looked like she was going to cry and confessed she felt like she was wearing a sack
First shop we went into were ultra rude and said there was no way they could help, with 3 months to go. Second shop were amazing and said they'd do a rush cut for us, *and* we found a dress both myself and my sister love!!! Yay! It blows the budget a bit having bought two dresses... but it's my fault really, trying to get one bargain too many!
great stuff! i am really struggling with bridesmaid dresses and havent seen any that i like! dont want to spend too much so have been looking online at the high street shops etc but nothing good yet!!Wins so far - £50 Faith voucher, Lindt chocolate box worth £30, Nail Varnish, BookHuge thanks to everyone who posts competitions

I was driving myself mad over BM dresses! Did I want long/ short /formal/casual? Arrggg!!! In the end I bought 2 short prom style ones from Debenhams sale, online sight unseen. Job done lol0 -
Yup tried that, it's on eBay and she has 7 watches she has said if it doesn't sell she will knock £50 off .... I know Shes taking a hit on this and I understand her position. Have just been crying my heart out in the bath about the cost OH came through and points out I don't buy many clothes or shoes and when I do they are from charity shops, I don't really go to the hairsdressers apart from a dry trim every now and then, so have decided to go for it. Have asked if she will take it off eBay if I pay the £900 but.... Can't pay till Jan till I get paid... If she goes for this I will be sooooo surprised .... Fingers toes and legs crosses people....
It really is a super dress and at £900 still a steal for an Ian Stuart!0 -
Ooooooooooooo, I've booked my make up trial! I'm very excited!! The make up artist said it was 'refreshing' to get a bride who didn't want understated bridal make up lol Slap it on!!0

The woman I'm buying from is lovely and has said I can have it for £850 and will wait till end Jan till I get paid!!!!!!!!!!!
I am over the moon!!!! It is £400 more than I wanted to pay but as soon as I saw the dress on the internet I wanted it - and that is NOT me. I am a charity shop shopper, I do not crave designer labels. But I wanted this dress it is sublime (imho)
Ladies thank you for your help GLEEFUL I owe you a few drinkiepoos for spotting it!!!:D:D
Hows about ladies when we are all Mrs's we all meet up IN OUR DRESSES for a drinkie or two :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Yay now the dress is nearly bought I can plough on with a colour scheme!! if I had a quid for everyone who had a sharp intake of breath when I told them that no haven't got dress yet and no haven't got colour scheme - it was hysterical!!
So for those that don't know here is my dress
Mine isn't this colour but a very pale coffee colour and it suits me down to the ground!!!!

Becks92 - that's great news! :j When you know it's the one, it's pretty hard to say no!
We had our menu tasting last Thursday and it was amazing! Champagne on arrival and plenty of wine (shame OH was driving...!).
We think we've decided what to go for but what does everyone think of this as a menu:
Starter: Country pate with Cumberland sauce, Melba toast and baby leaves
Vegetarian option: Greek salad - classic feta, cucumber, parsley & olive salad dressed with lemon oil & served with hummus and warm pitta
Main: Chargrilled Corn fed supreme of chicken served with roast potatoes, saut!ed spinach & chive butter sauce
Vegetarian option: Roast sweet potato risotto
Dessert: Dark Chocolate box with salted caramel & chocolate sauce.
Food was amazing and it's been hard to get it down to these!
Thanks for any help in advance!0 -

Well done Becks on getting your dress, and on getting it for a slightly lower price too.
We went to our reception venue yesterday, supposedly to taste sandwiches, etc for our afternoon tea reception. However, despite booking to come at 2pm and being told that was ok, we arrived to find a massive charity function going on, so we couldn't speak to anyone properly. I was really p'd off, as when we did speak to someone (the manager who didn't even introduce himself), he told us we should just contact them via email about what we want - our 4 choices of sandwiches! Is it just me, or does 4 choices seem very small? I wanted it to be special, not just your standard cheese and pickle, ham, tuna mayo and egg mayo. The guy we talked to was a different one to the one we talked to last time, and didn't know anything about what we'd arranged and why (untraditional wedding reception as getting married abroad). He did say we can have a tv to play the DVD of our wedding to the guests, and that we could play our CD (it has to be done via the bar in the next room though, so we have no control over it), which is good I suppose. We decided to have lunch whilst we were there as we'd been expecting to actually try some sandwiches, which the manager guy didn't offer. Last time we'd eaten there the food was great, but this time I had soup that was so salty, I could hardly eat it! After looking around and finding there weren't really many options for photos either, I left feeling very deflated!
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170
