Yay Becks, so glad u managed to get ur dress, and for less than u thought :)

So Sorry about ur appointment yesterday S.Mouse, maybe a polite but firm e-mail stating how dissatisfied u were with yesterday could help the venue rectify some of your problems. Unfortunatly if u say nothing, nothing will happen x

    Honey_rose, ur menu sounds fab.

Well I now have a whole 6 confirmed RSVP's on the website :T Had a bit of bad news this morning though, OH's Gramp was taken to hospital last night with difficulty breathing and stomach pains :( he is a tough cookie but at the moment he just seems to be surviving rather than living. Just praying for OH's and his families sake he pulls through :( Can't imagine getting married without him there

Fingers crossed that you OH's Gramp is on the mend soon sammr. Yay that you've got 6 RSVPs.

I've been sat here designing and trying to print a rough version of the insert for our invites. Looks like we may need to buy some ivory printer paper though, as putting the normal white stuff against the card, makes the card look a bit dirty IYKWIM.

I've put on the bottom to RSVP by 28th February. Do you think that is ok? Our reception is 22nd April, but if we were going to invite anyone else (if people couldn't come), we'd have to do so in March as we go away for the wedding on 5th April.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Poor you sexymouse, it should have been a happy, exciting expedition, picking & trying the foods, so I'm sorry you were disappointed.
Sammr-ditto to sexymouse, hope OH's gramp pulls through x
Honey-rose I feel hungry reading your menu, it sounds yum.
I've had an email from our caterers today, giving us a list of canapes to pick 5 from and the cost will only be £21/head for canapes/pie & mash (& veg)/rubarb crumble or lemon posset followed by coffee :j we are sourcing the pies ourselves so we know how much they're going to be, but the next job is to taste lots and decide which flavours we want-YUM! :D

  • Thanks everyone! :D Was just starting to panic trying to choose something that would appeal to at least most people!

Bella-h - the chocolate box is amazing! Didn't really know what to expect with it but so glad we gave it a go.

Sorry to hear about your venue Sexymouse, hopefully it's just a one off but I definately contact them to let them know. otherwise, like sammr says, nothing will be done.

It's so exciting getting all the RSVP's back. We've had all our day ones now and are just starting to send out the evening invites so got it to look forward to all over again!

Magicboo - that's a great price for all of that, sounds lovely :)

Ok, thinking about the sandwich fillings then, if we're only allowed 4 choices. There are quite a few vegetarians being invited (I'm veggie too), and the last thing that I want is for the meat-eaters to eat all of the veggie options as well as the meat ones, so Moon and I decided we needed a 60:40 split towards veggie options. We want them all on brown bread.

What do you all think of these options?

    1. Smoked cheddar, apple and caramelised onion chutney
    2. Hummous, grated carrot and babyleaf spinach
    3. Egg mayonnaise, mustard cress and cucumber
    4. Chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

sexymouse they are all yummy! I would eat all of those (but would pick the lettuce out of the blt - one of my oddities...). RSVP date also sounds fine - it means people have to respond quicker! Our RSVPs have dwindled to the occaisonal one, v. frustrating!

Currently trying to reduce the cost of my flower order. Do you think BMs would be bothered if their 'slightly smaller than mine' bouquets became posies?

Becks92 woo hoo I'm so blinking pleased for you! Your dress is so stunning.
  • They sound yummy sexymouse, especially 1 and 4! And I'd be more than happy with those as a choice as a meat eater.

aarchk - I don't think they'd mind at all! Posies are really pretty and I think it would look nice to have a variety of styles of bouquets.

aarchk I'm sure the BMs wouldn't mind that - I sometimes think the small hand-tied sprays of a couple of lillies or gerberas can look really pretty. What's your colourscheme? I could have a look on the net to see if I can find some inspiration.
