Flowerpower - I am wearing the corset all day as my dress has no boning (plus I have large boobs and hate wearing strapless bras as they are so uncomfortable!). I will be wearing it to my fitting which is also this coming saturday. Quite nervous and am on a v strict soup and fruit type diet this week.
Second banns reading went well, they start again at our local church this weekend. We cant be there as have arranged to go to the church we are marrying in to hear the final banns there with my parents and the in laws. I just have to hope they are read ok!
Still struggling with my OOS as I cant get the desktop publishing software downloaded again, am awaiting a techky friend to sort for me but he is very unreliable. Have decided to make them up myself to save costs.
Other than that am in a bit of a weird wedding lull at the moment. Since most of my dads family have decided not to come (because I refused to invite a weird aunt) all the of the excitement has gone. Hoping it will come back soon.0 -

As for the strawberry blonde - one of BMs daughter has beautiful ginger hair, but when she was wee she would have a tantrum if you called her ginger and she would stamp her foot and say it was strawberry blonde!! Its more strawberry blonde, than the orangey ginger to be fair, but its a lovely colour!
Aww thank you tartantottyI am going for the 1st one because i like it that little bit more and i wont feel to bare when i have my dress on. I hate the colour of my hair, always have done. Hate hate hate being called ginger and i always say its strawberry blonde :rotfl:

Haven't done much weddingy this weekend - although we did sort out our seating plan, as best we could. Meeting up with photographer for the first time on Friday and then dress fitting on Saturday! Can't wait to try it on again. Hope dress still fits, and goes with my odd collection of shoes, tiara, necklace etc.
Advice from those who've done their dress fittings - I got myself a corset to wear underneath, but not sure if I should bring it to the fitting. For those who are planning to wear corsets - will you be wearing it under the dress or slip into it later on... ?:T Became Mrs Allison on 23rd April 2011

Flowerpower-the "Order of Service" or leaflet is usually given out at the church to the guests and is what is says on the tin-it shows the guests what order things will be in during the church service. They are now used alot in civil ceromonies too (as B2B24 has said) to give the guests an idea of what to expect. They can have simple information such as "Hymn number xxx" and "reading by xxx" to the entire hymn words and readings written out in full. They can also have the entire day planned out so guests can know what is happening when.
I'm wondering if I should start chasing RSVPs yet as we've only officially had 36 people reply out of 95 invited...!!
HTH x0 -
We have had most of the replies back and we are a few adults less than we invited so currently deciding whether to bump people up from the evening invites (we only have about 6 extra in the evening and they are not really close enough to justify a full day), or invite some friends I couldnt invite initially. most of the declines have been on my side as its my friends and family that have to travel so feeling a bit overrun by H2Bs farming friends. poo.
Its a shame that the vistaprint leaflet idea wont work for me as having a church service and will need more pages. Am going to order a banner this evening though!0 -
Thanks everyone - aarchk, I think I'll do the same and wear the corset for the fitting. Then if it doesn't go, at least I'll know early on to find something else.
The orders of the day do sound useful... B2B24, if you don't mind, it'd be hugely helpful to see how you've done yours. Thanks!
Aarchk sorry to hear about your invite woes... my OH's family all decided not to cometrying not to take it as a personal insult, I know it's a long way for them. I think OH is upset about it, but putting on a brave face.

I was upset initially but now not caring at all other than the fact that I could have had more uni friends (we didnt do evening invites for them as our reception ends at 11.30 and they all live in the north of england).
The most confusing thing is the changing of the surname - this is all highly confusing so please bear with me as I explain. I was going to convert my maiden name which is also a popular girls name into a middle name (as I dont have a middle name) but now I want to drop my maiden name as I want nothing to do with my dads family but I still dont want to fully embrace my married name. H2Bs family are a little bit too in love with their "family'' and I desperately want to retain some of my own identity. Plus I would have the same initials as MIL without a middle initial and want to avoid that.
Currently thinking about either adding in my mothers maiden name, which is not a girls name and has the same initial as MIL2B so we will still be the same, or adding in my mothers sister who died when I was young or my nans name or both. But they are proper girls names, not ones that can be first or surnames so not sure how it would work. So confusing and its really stressing me out. Tears Ahoy.
Currently also ordering a new veil without blusher so no one has to lift it when I get up the aisle. Families eh?0 -
We're off to the tailor tonight to get Moon's suit jacket altered as he tried it on the other day and it was too big (I hadn't realised in the shop as was caught up in the moment, the lighting was shocking (virtually none) and I trusted Moon's judgement)
. I've got my hen-do on Saturday (having a beautician come over to my house to do mini treatments, then we're having pizza and DVDs in the evening), so I've been having a bit of a tidy up as I had the morning off work today (had to take my car in to have the bodywork repaired after I scraped it the other day - £280 ).
Well I'd better be off as I've got to get changed for work, eat lunch, bring in the washing and go.
Sorry to hear about your guests aarch - Moon's cousins can't come to our reception either and I think he's a bit upset about that - I know I am, as most of the guests are people I've invited and I wanted him to have some people there for him too. Hope you manage to work out which name you want to use - I'm not going to change mine for the moment - it's easier that way, and Moon doesn't mind.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
I had the most crazy dream last night, think nerves are actually carrying through to my dreams now.
My dream (short version) - It's my wedding day and I'm ready, have to make my way to my aunts old house to meet everyone, slip and fall in garden path, get there and realise I've forgotten lots of stuff such as veil, jewellery, etc, mum is no help at all getting sorted, have to do everything myself. Get to church to find it's double booked, us and other couple get married at same time. Other couple jump over broom stick after service (seen this done on last nights episode of four weddings USA) I'm looking at OH going what are we going to do jump over it as well. Ha!
What is going on in my head??????????0
