Well, I am a terrible stockpiler - as some of you who read the packets and tins thread

    I have 216 toilet rolls
    5 mens deodorant
    10 ladies deodorant
    17 toothpastes
    72 imperial leather soaps
    4 large surfs (90washes)
    8 shampoos
    5 toothbrushes
    30 (:o) liquid handwases
    countless showergels

Well, to be honest, I have lost count - I put it on top of my bed and it was completely covered! But, it is all stuff that I will use and it won't go off.
Nothing that I have was full price, the surf was closest (worked out to 10p a wash, and the smell is divine!) and mostly everything else ('cept the toilet rolls) came courtesy of tesco. Needless to say, I won't be buying [read: paying] for a lot of beauty stuff for ages!

Recently Sainsbury's sold off their "Planet Cook" range which was an additive-free range for kids. There were pasta sauces, cookin sauces and tinned pasta as I recall. At 5p each I thought they were a bargain and bought loads! They were ALL incredibly nasty, no wonder the range was withdrawn. I know they were additive free but they were completely tasteless! I threw the unused items away, luckily I'd wasted less than £1. Lesson learned - if no-one buys the stuff, there's probably a good reason :o

I got a bit carried away when I joined MSE and got loads of those free magazine offers like 9 bottles of shower gel from Yves Rocher, and the Tea Tree offer from Zest magazine. Sounds great but we don't have a shower! I flogged them at the PTA summer fayre so I reckon I made a small profit on the small amount of money I paid out on magazine subs.
  • Hi All,
I can't believe therte are so many stockpilers like me.
I've nearly run out of Kleenex Triple Velvet loorolls and am starting to get scared that I'll have to pay full price for them if I don't find it on offer somewhere soon!
Can anyone help, has anyone seen it on offer recently?
I refuse to use any other loorolls as these are my favourite and the most economical.
I eagerly await reply, and this time I'll buy enough for a year!!!!!

I'm terrible when it comes to anything to do with washing ... At the moment, I've got two industrial sized bottles of persil that I was given (I can barely lift them lol), plus some filetti that I bought with a voucher, plus two bottles of surf tropical (BOGOF), plus a few other bottles of various other special offers. I've also just worked out that I've got enough Lenor to last me until August ... My local Somerfield has just closed down and they were selling washing liquid off at 50p a bottle - I couldn't resist!

And loo-rolls - I'll only buy the stuff that's on offer. Unfortunately we've got no storage to speak of in our loo, so they all get stacked up on the shelf. It makes an interesting feature!
  • Somerfields are doing Nouvelle 12's @£4.99 on Bogof till the 24th.

:o I've got enough washing powder to last me until next year and have had since before last Xmas if that counts. This thread was great, pleased someone brought it back up. Naughtiest one is ben and jerrys icecream, not being able to buy enough proper food to last more than a few days as the freezer is so full of bogof icecream is bad! Showergel I did a stock count in September, think we were in 30s or 40s, still using them now :o
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • lol .... made me laugh too.
not gone quite that mad .... but did buy about 8 butternut squash from tescos one day when they were reduced - ive used every tupperware container i have to store bs soup in the freezer now!! there must be 30+ containers in there...even old 1kg spread cartons!

im also sick to the back teeth of the stuff now too :(

Hey there tiredwithtwins - whereabouts in Sheff? I'm here too! Good to see the SteelCity represented on here!
  • And also, freyasmum, do you post on Sheffield Forum with the same name?

I have been soooooo glad to see this thread - at last I can show my DH that I am not the worst when it comes to stockpiling. Yesterday I used the last tin of condensed tomato soup that had been stockpiled 18 months ago (BOGOF of course). When I do order a delivery from Tescos (when I get a free delivery voucher) something seems to say to me - buy tins, buy tins - then you won't have to carry them home on the bus! At the moment I can just fit them all in to our large kitchen, but it is only a matter of time before they overflow.

Of course, when Costco had the buy three for the price of two on for baked beans I stocked up like crazy - then fell pregnant and couldn't bear the smell of them!

BTW, for those who use hosiery, it is much more economical to wear stockings than tights. And if you buy a load at the same time and get the same dye lot, it makes it easier to mix and match the colours. The expression of the sa at Woolworths as this middle aged woman came to the check out with 15 pairs of black stockings (black is slimming!) was beyond belief!!!

I do not want to confess how many I bought when Durex were BOGOF at Boots a few years ago, but I wish I had a picture of the sa's face :) I am still not sure how I had the nerve to do it, but I saved a load with DH.

    Hev
    Always another chapter

Oh hev- how funny about the durex! ( will be ever so boring right now and say, dont forget you can get freebies from the GP/ Family planning services, when they gave me the last lot I said "is that all!" if you say this, youll get more cos the nurse is a bit more embarrassed than I was lol
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
