Before I found this board I muddled along and never really bought in bulk or looked for the cheapest or made from scratch... but today I had builders in to measure up for the garage I am having to have built to house the Costco toilet rolls, Costco kitchen rolls, chest freezer (not yet connected as no room so in shed at the moment), Boots handwash, sack of potatoes, Jam pan, jam jars, catering packs of mayonnaise, plastic tub thingies that you freeze stuff in, Aldi steam generator iron and ironing board, giant packs of pasta and 20-odd bags of stuff I have put together for car boot sale, all of which I have accumulated since starting to come on here every day!! So while I have saved loads of money with my bulk buying the £3K for the garage will take a bit of clawing back:oJane
ENDIS. Employed, no disposable income or savings!0 -
Great pics Welshy....
The only thing I have in bulk at the minute is all of the Tesco stuff I have bought - which is about £120.00 worth of toiletries with about 15 bottles of shampoo, 15 bottles of handwash, 15 bottles of showergel etc. Also are things from Boots, like Sanex shave foam reduced to 49p on BOGOF, got 10 of those.
It shouldn't be hard to get through it all. I live in a shared student house, and when everyone returns from their summers at home, it will disapear like hot cakes I'm sure!0 -
Teabags.........my local co-op had Yorkshire Tea on 100% extra free 2 months ago just as I got my (long awaited) tax refund. I dont think I will have to buy teabags until next year.0

OMG .... are you my mum? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: She does this whenever tea bags are on 2 for 1...which is pretty much every week in one supermarket or another :rotfl:0 -
Great pics welshy.
This thread has made me evaluate things, Just done a quick mini stocktake -
No-one in the house drinks tea, yet I have three packets of tea bags.
I have 4 jars of branston pickle (BOGOF)
12 tins of soup in summer? (BOGOF)
34 toilet rolls (Vouchers)
A spare kettle (Morphy richards clearance, used the iron when mine blew up this week)
3 No7 gift bags (Run out of people to give them too)
4 Christmas puddings (from the christmas hampers we got from my prevoius employer)
8 bottles of herbal essences (tesco toiletry vouchers)
6 Bath foam (Ditto)
10 various gift sets from boots (Sale)
I have 26 simcards (freebies)
I would like topoint out this is only the tip of the iceberg!
And today I bought 6 tins of M & S mints for 50p each from my local flea market. I don't actually like them. But they are normally a pound!
The main problem is we are currently renovating the house. I have no kitchen cupboards (or walls) so how / why do I keep the stuff? There is a room I can't even get in which I know has boxes of stuff from 6 months ago! And how have I just spent £120 online at tesco's?
OH MY GOD I AM MY MUM! (she still has enough food to feed an army in her pantry)
I'll be back to normal tomorrow - local cheapo shop has deliveries on a thursday night!Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

I knew my moneysaving was quite bad when I started choosing storage containers at Tescos to put my bargains into !!! still we are well stocked up now on everyday essentials and should Colgate's toothpaste factory become destroyed in a thunderstorm I have enough toothpaste for the whole street !

I have given up with the Tesco toiletry things....I have no more room for anything else and there is only 1 of me! I can understand with Welshy's family of 6.
Will sell things to housemates for £1 an item I think. Set up a little shop outside my room.0 -
