We should have a picture gallery of all our stashes....

At the moment I am using a tea trolley that I borrowd from the girl's in my house upstairs. They were using it to put all their shoes on in their shoe cupboard (size of small bedroom). So I neatly lined all the shoes up on the floor, grabbed the trolley, and hid it in my corridor leading to mine and my next door neighbours room.

Anyway, its stacked with my H+B voucher stuff, and also put my freebies in shopping baskets on the top shelf that I 'borrowed' from Tesco. Im very proud of it!
  • Just found the site. It such a relief to know there are other people out there who, like me, bulk buy. :grouphug: Strangely toilet rolls do seem to be the item of choice. Just bought 180 (special offer at Costco - 60 rolls of Kleenex Triple Velvet for £10.33 - nothing but the really soft stuff for my family), now in a quandary, should I go back and buy another 180 so that I have enough for a year (go through one a day). The loft even has some space or would this just encourage us to eat curry every day as we have plenty of loo roll? Daughter's boyfriend thinks I'm mad. But next week the Kitchen towel is on special offer (20 rolls for £10.56 plus is a BOGOF) so must pace myself.
  • The way I see it lizhog10 (by the way welcome to MSE nice to see a newbie posting ) is that toilet rolls are an essential item, so you are not excessively buying just buying the inevitable and saving yourself some time in the future !!!

We have so many health and beauty items OH bought some plastic storage crates and put them in the loft. We have saved a fortune and have enough toothbrushes for the next couple of years.

    you guys . . !

It's only money saving if it's something you would ordinarily buy and you don't have to pay any extra to get it! You must realise that the reason these offers exist is to get you to buy something you wouldn't have done otherwise???!!! That's what me dad taught me anyway!

For instance: At my local morrisons they have fairy dishwasher tablets with 25% extra free - usually 30 tabgs, now 45. Good yeah? Well it would be except they still cost more than morrisons own 45 tabs.

Am on a tight budget so have to be extra careful, you should see me walking around with my calculator, working out which deal is better !!!

Not saying you are wrong (have been to busy laughing!), you just have to be sensible too. xxx

Sensible Squidgy x :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

PS I tend to find that morrisons discounts about half an hour before closing during the week, not at all on a saturday and about two hours before close on a sunday. HTH

PPS with the marg that you guys have got it'll probably be alright for anything you make that you don't have to melt it for first, at least that's what I've found when I've tried using anything like that for sauces.

    I've been Money Tipped!
In the summer we took a trip to Norwich and on the way back to the station dropped into the Boots for a bottle of water came out with 4 large carrier bags of very cheap items costing about £10 and my points I'd been saving.
We went round the shop relieving the shelves of all their 20p and 10p items then the 50p ones. people were following us round to see where we went next and at the till the ca asked us where we found them all as she wanted to get some!

Trouble is all my cupboards are full!!

When my mum divorced my dad, she was really stressed and went into siege mentality with food, storing stuff.....
When we had a count up, she had 45 cans of tinned tomatoes! :rotfl:

It was hilarious! Tinned toms for weeks on end? We had a fair old go!:D

This thread has really inspired me. After readind the posts (and having a good laugh :D ) I realised I had been only playing with bulk buying. I got a measly 2 packets of bodyform when they were free with the vouchers :wall: I have started to make up for lost time I now have 160 toilets rollsand load of kitchen roll squeezed in my under stairs cuboard, I'm just hoping the meter reader doesn't turn up soon.

I did a bulk order to Boots earlier on in the year. I had a code which gave me free delivery. I bought bottles and bottles of toiletries/vitamins/sanitary products etc on BOGOF. Boots had to package the items in two huge boxes and the delivery man both times had to use a trolley with wheels on to get it down the path. I couldnt get them as far as the hallway and had to unpack them there and then..... Then i realized i hadnt got anywhere to store them. I have shampoo in drawers in my bedroom, under the bed, inbetween sheets and pillowcases, in the boys drawers in their bedroom, on top of the wardrobes as well as in the wardrobes, stacked neatly in rows on my dressing table. I may have got a lot free but i have a heart attack every time i go upstairs.

Edited to add, i seem to be adding to it as a new product comes on the market too.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one to have stockpiled!!! :T
I ended up buying 20 shampoo and conditioners (separate) because they worked out at a pound each and a year on I'm still trying to use them up!
Me and my sister have been trying to stop ourselves buying things on special offer because we end up with so much stuff but begrudge giving the shops too much money.
