  • Haha!

There are just loads of Chavs in Saxos here.

I duno if i mentioned. I had my stuff sprayed, fitted it all to the car today, and it's not been sprayed properly. The colour isn't thick enough. Also we think my drivers wing has creased too -.-'

All fun. This fun is getting expensive.

oh no, your sure they matched the paint spot on just one metalic flake missing and itle look different colour slightly. or have they applied too much laquer and it looks slighlty milkey and rippley in the light. take them back and make a complaint and have it done again free.

or does the sprayed parts seem lighter than the car! this can make it look thin but actually its not as the rest of the cars paint has suffered uv damage wich is easily repairable

Just a word of caution about taking the dog owner to court.

He did admit liability but in very emotional circumstances - he may say he was saying that in the heat of the moment but on reflection he doesn't believe it to be his fault.

Also greyhounds are renowned for slipping their leads because they have a very small head to body ratio - especially if they've just come off the race track and are all muscled up. They also have a high chase instinct making them more likely again to get over excited and slip their collar.

The dog owner may use this kind of reasoning to show that in his opinion, it was not negligence on his behalf that caused an accident, especially if it was a new hound to him.

I love dogs and I have a greyhound of my own (small head, small brain imo :p) and sad as the accident would be if I were the dog owner - I would be most glad that no people were hurt in the accident although that would be true even if the fault was 100% the driver.

As an aside - when I learned to drive (a long time ago so things may have changed) my instructor was very keen that all unexpected hazards be dealt with using an emergency (but controlled) stop. His reasoning was that if something runs out there is not usually the time to assess whether it is big enough to avoid or to run over - the time it takes to make that assessment could lead to greater tragedy, so he preferred that it was instinctive to brake rather than take the time to make a conscious decision.

    Good luck.

On the bumper, it's the edges you can see through the new paint to the old colour a bit!

And on the bonnet, it's like really faint dark clouds.

the bumper/bonnet was only scotch clothed before painting common practace as this acts as the primer, downside is that if its a darker paint to the top colour it will reflect through in certain shades of light (like flip paint) on courners and contours of the bumper, so yes imho the paint needs more layers to it on the bumper, as for the bonnet the dark clouds could be the reflection of the sky!:D:rotfl:only jokeing! maybe blemishes or laquer burns from a mop polishing machine, or dirt or dust got into the laquer on painting. still i wouldnt be happy with this as youve paid for a service youd expect the paint to be equaly as good as the rest of the car.

Yeh. I feel really guilty though. Because the guy that works there quoted me £250+VAT on the phone. When I went to pick the stuff up it was the owner who i'm quite friendly with now :P and he said £350+VAT... I was like. WHAT?! Blokey said it was £250! So he ended up doing it for £250+VAT so barely made any profit really.

regardless of thier mistaken quote, you expect the parts to be of same quality to the rest of the car. go back have a chat with owner explain you not nit picking but it is really noticeable, as it doesnt match the car and would he look at them! on the car of course so he can see the contrast in colours. see how it goes.
  • I went back today, had a chat with the owner. He was really annoyed that it wasn't done properly and it's going to be done again. So taking her in Wednesday morning and then all should be good after that :)
  • a family friend has just bought a fiesta same shape as yours, its had a bump but not written off and no money owned on it (the geeza that owned it before was elderly and his friend and unfortunatly passed away his missus dont drive so she sold the car to him at that price because he helped with the funeral costs.)

he bought the car £500.00 not much wrong with it door wing bumper head lamp and its done, its the lime green metalic (quite rare colour) he's got the complete ST interior including stearing wheel and the body kit all for £300.00 one side skirt need a bit of work as its off a side impact write off and the driver door interior door panel is being repaired £30.00 at a auto interior centre. he's painting it all this weekend! provideing that the side skirt plays ball with us! he's had the ST side strips made up for the doors each side but instead of ST he's got the ford badge in its place, he's booking in the front seats to have the ST stitching taken off and ford motorsport stitched on them, but the rear seats and head rests are in allready. the paint is ordered from ford for the kit and other bits n bobs that need doing like the door. bumpers and spoiler allready have the white go faster stripes on the so were plasti' masking and masking these and rubbing the blue down and them re-primering them to paint,
were trying to find the fiesta GTR alloys but theyre like gold dust to find and ford want an amazing amount of money for them without tyres. got a stainless steel dual exit exhaust being made up and a manifold to de cat, looking for lowering springs and some good coil overs all round only going down 45mm.

and before anyone asks he's 42 years old, and yes he is insuring the mods he's makeing, he has a bit of dosh from car accident, no it wasnt his fault a lorry hit him in the rear forcing the car to topple quite a bit down the road. was on a end of a slip road at a junction stationary giving way to traffic when the lorry doing about 35-40mph (NSL road) smashed his micra (lorry driver was on mobile at the time and way over his rest period by a few hours), was in intensive care for about 3 weeks in an induced coma as he had broken ribs 2 broken legs and a broken collar bone(from the seat belt) a bleed on the brain. he then spent 3 months in hospital recovering. you can imagine the pay out he had!!! from the lorry drivers insurance co. so he's doing up his fiesta to keep in the family for his daughter who will be of age to drive in a couple of years.

Sounds like a bargain, considering ST interiors cost about £300 by themselves usually. Hopefully I will get to keep my car when i'm at Uni and will be able to do a 2.3 conversion, depending on insurance.

Accidents can happen, that is true.

In this instance the best bet now is to learn from it, and take an advanced driving course to improve your situational awareness, appreciation of unexpected hazards, and safe control of a vehicle under more circumstances that would ever be taught or expected from a normal driving licence test.

Whilst it will never rule out the possiblity of a future accident, it will greatly reduce the chances of something like this occuring again.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that
