    agree with mr A totally.

a lot of csa issues are caused because the nrp is peeved at the way the ex spends his hard earned wonga.

my ex was constantly pestering me for extra. not because she wasn't getting enough, but because she was crap at budgetting. and i wasn't gonna fund that.

the best one was she buying her unemployed BF's cigs, then whingeing to me she needed money for littluns swimming that week. needless to say, i told her to "do one".

she tried the csa route, but has failed miserably as being a LTD co, i had them tied up in knots. she has now realised this and we will be sorting things out between ourselves.

i shant be buying his smokes though......... ;);)

    Mr A,
Its the law of the land and there aint nowt we can do about it.

I agree that you have valid points but until all the NRPs are ready to stand up and take it to the people who the law belongs to, then your stuck with it!!

The whole system is a grey area and it was set up so that parents took financial responsibility so that their children werent living in poverty but they themselves (csa) cannot prove that they have done just that, as they cannot measure the number of children that they have lifted out of poverty because they do not count the household income of the recieving child.

So really alls the CSA are doing is collecting maintenance from NRPs and thats all their job is.....is to collect!!!

Its the Government and the Enforcement Commission who put the Inplacement Plan for Child Support Agency to collect maintenance.

What I meant is that although they have lifted some out of poverty they dont know if second children are living in poverty, as well as the children who recieve no maintenance from NRPs because they dont go into every households income.

    Hi Chriszz

I agree with some of what you say, but it seems to me the Government or CSA really dont care for kids or NRP when they make these decisions.
I am in agreement with you when you say all the CSA do is collect but surely its down to government to make sure the PWC is doing just that....Caring!
All too many times the PWC just want money for themselves, not the kids. This don't appear to be true in all cases but in most it is.

All NRP & PWC would want is a fairer system as adopted in other countries maybe.
My whole disagreement with variation is due to the lack of understanding from CSA/Government regarding my working circumstances and the fact its unfeasible for me to see my kids each week due to work committments.
True I can get a job working 9-5 monday to friday but at a lesser salary than I get at present, so the PWC or my kids will be worse off by seeing me regular and not getting as much maintenance.

I agree with what you are saying but the above quote always gets me when people seem to think money is more important than contact, just putting myself in a kid shoes,:

What would be the most important to me as your child?

Would I want my dad to work more, so that I can have more material things, or

Would I want to see my dad more instead of having more material things

Well I know which one I would prefer and that is the latter.

Material things mean nothing........but to have your dad give you a cuddle, play with, to talk to, laff/cry with, would mean everything......but then again children are now brought up more to want and expect material things.....so maybe I should see you less and be grateful for what material things I can get, and soon enuf I wont even know who you are other than someone who provides for me!!

Sorry for making it sound harsh but looking at it from a childs prespective its a little bit sad!!! please dont ever think money replaces contact with a parent.

I know its financially hard but trust me, children need both parents!!! They would be more worse off if you were less in their lives in appose to being less money.

Its a pity that work commitments and distance can get in the way of contact but unfortunately sometimes thats just the way it goes, the fact that you are in your kids lives emotionally and financially is great...no one can knock you for that, I hope things work out for you!!

True Chriszzz, but if op did this the pwc will possibly create merry hell when she finds out shes getting less money because he's taken a job which pays less, this could be construed as intentionally taking a lesser paid job for purposes of paying less child mainentance:D

the phrase 'your dammned if you do and your dammned if you dont' is springing to my mind here. iyswim:). and its easy to say once your used to earning x amount you usually find your living to within a pound of it pretty quick. not saying op couldnt do this but you never know.

Thing is BB, being a parent (nrp) you couldnt let the system as well as the pwc manipulate or dictate that your money is more important than a childs well-being, if it meant earning less so as you can see your child more, your still paying maintenance and if the pwc wants to have a tantrum...well didums!!!

At the end of the day every child matters (so they say or dictate) I really dont think csa or pwc could do nothing about it if the nrp wants to take a job to enable more contact, he is still paying maintenance.

If it was me I would be doing what I thinks best for the my child and to h3ll with what the system and pwc say.
