shall we have a wedding chat thread?

Hi everyone, first time of posting on here and sorry it's a negative. Just need to ask if I've got the right to be annoyed on this one. I got engaged a couple of months ago and am due to get married in 2012. One of my bridesmaids has been seeing a guy for just under two months and has announced that she is engaged and will marry him in 2011, almost exactly a year before me, and with the same style of wedding, she even wanted the same venue. I think it's a little bit out of order but am I overreacting?

As for your friend, I realise it may seem kinda annoying that her plans tp marry are happening quicker than yours. But everyone has a different view on how & when to get married - I know 4 other couples that got enaged around the same time as me, and the weddings range from being a year before to a month after my date.

As for her going with the same theme / venue, maybe chat to her about it.
She may just really like your choices, and hasn't thought of her own ideas. But if you explain to her that each of your weddings might be more special if their individual and different.

talk to your friend again and when the details come up say'erm but dont you remember that is how i want mine, why dont you have such and such(insert the latest cool thang out of cosmo brides!)

Your wedding is going to be amazing no matter what, don't fret too much about things being the same, they won't be anyway. I couldn't actually tell you the theme or colours of any wedding I've been to more than 3 months ago anyway!

Its August 14th, we went to John Lewis this morning to look at material and the women there were so lovely, but making me panic slightly giving me tales of brides going there TWO years before their day to get material!!

We bought the most beautiful duchess satin and a crocheted tulle for the overlay, it's much better quality than the dress I've bought and I have faith in my Aunt to make something gorgeous... she organised her wedding in 6 weeks and she made three bridesmaids dresses and her own so we're all confident it'll be done in time.

I'm actually more excited now, I've completely forgotten about being upset that the one I've bought isn't the best fit.

Hello to Jellybean, I'd stop sharing any ideas with your friend as come your wedding anything that's similar she may tell people that you stole ideas from her!
I think I have just decided how to do my invites so off to make a prototype now :j

i know its abit premature...ok its stupid doing table plans now but i have
well i thought i did until my darling h2b saw it and said wheres so and so? grrr
i did the list for the day/breakfast then asked him who else do i put down
he said one other couple and leave the rest to the evening
now hes changed more to the day
i then said if we have x and y to the day dont we have to have u v and w
he said i though they already were!!!
he then said i dont know why your thinkin of that now its too soon

it really is but i cant stop myself!!

Aww Bubbles, can you not find anything else to do for the time being? You might end up putting so much into it that it could be a bit of a let down if so and so doesn't turn up? Could you look at colour schemes or dresses or decs and centre pieces for the reception.

I started to make the prototype invite yesterday but realised that half the stuff I needed was missing so I have to wait until Saturday now!

dress- i do keep looking but dont want to look too much as a: i cant afford to buy 'thee one'
and b: what if its not 'thee one' and i change my mind so im going to wait another year!

the table plans- i know its stupid to be doing it this early and its only a first draft
i know a few wont be around unfortunately so im just messing around really and shouldnt be getting hett up lol

thats why i love coming on here, so i can help others out and provide ideas that ive already thought of x
