Grateful I'm gonna have a snifter at Evening Rain next time I'm in the Yankee shop, it sounds right up my street.

valli My Friday customer has a sticky carpet, her dyson just floats over the top and does nothing, and even the Henry struggles with it lol takes me 8/9 minutes to hoover it, doesn't help that it's bright red and it's covered in hairs lol put me right off getting a carpet from John Lewis mind, that's where hers is from, I have another customer who has one from there and it's the same, like hoovering velcro.

Need to phone MIL cos I'd forgotten she was at work, need to know when she's back in. Bolognese smells heavenly, gonna have to do rice with it though cos I've got no pasta, of any sort *tuts*

    hi all

Happy Mothers' Day/Mothering Sunday to all.

No kids here to spoil me! Have been to church, which was a fun all age service, then nipped to Mr S, came home and had lunch with DH and we've been out for a stroll to the local pond :). We've been chatting about where to spend our 2 week summer holiday...somewhere cheap, not too far to travel and where we can walk but no mountains!

DH is doing some more work on our household budget and I'm catching up on casualty.

We've also been talking about getting a spare double bed for our spare room...at the moment it has a futon in it but it's not comfy either to sit on or sleep on! The whole room needs a good sort out, it's a bit of a dumping ground and dark and dingy. I tried suggesting to DH that the 2 guitars in there which haven't been played for 2 years could be stored but that didn't go down well!! I plan to start going through some of the stuff in there this week...there's a set of weights for a start that haven't been used since we moved here...no point in keeping those!

Well I've nearly finished baking a cake. I made a victoria sandwich, but the cake tins I had were a lot bigger than the one in the recipe, so I'm making the second double layer for it now. It'll be a 4 layer victoria sandwich.

Had to pop out to the shops to get some raspberry jam for the cake, so popped into Homebase and got my Mum a pale pink Easter cactus, then nipped to Sainsbugs (nextdoor) to get a couple of bits that were forgotten yesterday. I went to the self-scan till, as was worried about the comments on the 2 items I bought - baked beans and air freshener!:rotfl:

Have done no schoolwork at all today - really CBA, but I know that I have to write up my lesson observation plan, so must do that at least. Plus the extra questions and titles for my display board need to be done too.

I've cleaned the worktop in the kitchen down and put all of the cooking stuff in the dishwasher.

There are 2 loads of washing out on the line drying nicely, and I'm about to put another load in the WM. Keep checking the weather, as there have been quite a few black clouds around with breaks of sunshine in between.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day.

    Hi All

Happy Mothers Day everyone hope you have/are having a nice one its just another day for me seein as DH is away, I got cards from the kids and he left flowers for me on Friday. I just can't sit on my bum and do nothing although I did go back to bed this morning with kids and the paper and coffee which is something I never do :D I also had my wee cousing staying over last night so she has been keeping wee ones entertained today and let me get on with DS's room. I have also had 4 loads of washing out, last lot is nearly dry now so hope the rain stays away.

I have not had a chance to catch up with thread so hope you are all well, am off to peel the potatoes and apples, steak pie and apple crumble for dinner today which is DH's favourite, only reason I am cooking (well stew was already made so took out the freezer) this on Mothers day is that was what was on the meal planner and the apples are starting to look a bit wrinkly :rotfl:I will prob not get back on tonight as hopefully DH wil be back before kids bedtime and I can sit and get a catch up with him, take care all and enjoy the rest of your day xx
