    £1.20 today please.

Does anyone understand this? - I always pay off my credit card in full every month and until last month I had never missed a payment. Last month I missed the due date by mistake and ended up paying £8 odd in interest. My mistake and although it is annoying I have accepted it and am moving on. However, when I checked this month's statement I noticed they had charged me £1 interest. I knew I had paid off the full balance well before the due date so I called them. They told me that since I had missed the payment last month the system had re-set itself and it (the system) was reading my account as this being the first month I had paid off the balance in full by the due date. I understood that part but he then told me that because it was the first month, it charges interest. So, the part I don't understand is this:

because it is the first month I have paid off my balance in full by the due date, they charge me interest. Does that make sense to anyone else or can anyone shed some light on this??

    Cheers everyone!! :)

Oh and by the way, he agreed to cancel the interest charge.

    Morning All!

Green - Don't worry, today is overcast and rainy and we have rain forecast for the next week! lol

Angelic - HELLO, I'M HERE AND I'M LOUD! hehehehe, is that better? lol

Sorry, Girlatplay, the way the CC companies work out the interest baffles me somewhat. I've tried to get them to supply me breakdowns etc before so I can get my head round it, but just got a letter fobbing me off instead! Grrrr!

On the plus side, Milka are running a new competition here. A chance to win a bike! And, if you don't win, each code is worth €35 discount for a new 'Milka" bike AND you can combine 7 codes for a total discount of €245, which means the bike will only cost €135! Not bad, not bad. Especially as the choc bars only cost €1 each AND you get to eat the chocolate of course! Mmmmmmm. Yummy. So, naturally, I am going to buy some more tonight, try my luck and if I don't win, then I can buy a nice, new, but very cheap bike! FAN DABBY DOOSY!

    Have a good day all!

Thanks! I intend to! :D I guess I'd better share some with the OH though! :rotfl:

Still can't believe what a good deal it is though. I thought I had translated the Dutch wrong, so I've had 3 native speakers read it too and I was right. They also can't believe it! lol

Thanks guys. I didn't really need an answer as such, I just wanted to check that it wasn't me being thick and totally missing the point. I have asked two of my colleagues who also don't understand and when I was on the phone to the guy at MBNA I asked him if he understood and after a slight (but definite) pause he said he did understand but only because he works there and deals with it every day!!

sashy - my new job, which I love to bits, is a whopping £5 an hour less than my previous job, so it can be done.
I hated my previous job, and used to sit in my car plucking up the nerve to walk in the door. In the end, leaving was the only option.

Hi gilli, glad you're enjoying your new job. :) The way you describe your old job is how I feel about the job I'm in now, I've had to force myself to go into work every day for the last 8 months feeling sick about it. Now I'm just feeling a bit sick about not having a job at all. If I don't resign they will terminate the contract anyway.

Anyway a pad of £1 to Barclaycard today.
