    Hello PADers!

A small but perfectly formed £1.02 PAD for me today, into the pirate booty tin.

Remaining PADs will be small until payDay next Friday as I've spent a princely sum on my c/c this month and have to pay it all off.

Hope all are well, and well done to those of you who've paid off debts! I really don't know why more people don't do this fantabulous PAD thing. It's changed my life, that's for sure.

The sun's out here, and we transferred some sproutlings into our mini greenhouses last night. Is summer finally on its way? :j

Hi all:j Many thanks to everyone for the postive messages re clearing the M&S card - it does help you know I appreciate it. I just used the card again today but paying it all off at the end of the month - very :money: & getting vouchers.

Spurred on by the great feeling of getting rid of a card, realised though that the other cards have much bigger balances on them, so won't get cleared fast IYSWIM. Still, have Padded £1000 to my next highest IR card - & coincindentally , also the card with the biggest balance:(:(:(. So, PAD for today is £1000 off LLoyds Plat card please COMP - thank you:T

Just popping by with hugs for those who need them, feel a bit guilty to not be padding but don't know how the money will all work out.
sashy - my new job, which I love to bits, is a whopping £5 an hour less than my previous job, so it can be done.
I hated my previous job, and used to sit in my car plucking up the nerve to walk in the door. In the end, leaving was the only option.

I had a look at the thread. The main question asked was the first one I would ask - i.e. has she worked there for less than a year? If so, in a word, she is stuffed. If more than a year, she probably has some rights - including taking the case to a tribunal. This could probably be avoided if the employer is open to discussion. It's always a bad idea to pre-warn about possibly leaving a job until receiving a written job offer from the next employer.
It may also be worth bearing in mind that someone who employs less than five people is exempt from certain legislation but the stuff around unfair dismissal may not be a part of that.
    IMO she needs the CAB.
Also, I'm surprised that no CRB check was carried out before starting her current work.
Much of my info is old so rules may have changed. My most recent venture into the legislation was when I was unfairly dismissed from a part-time job a few years ago. Low income (10 hours a week) and only there 14 months and wanted out anyway. Accepted 20 hours pay as compensation from the employer without resorting to all the tribunal stuff. I'm not one for doing such things myself but I was treated appallingly and was motivated by a desire to show them that even though I was a part-time general cleaner, I did know my stuff LOL. They probably needed a dictionary to translate my letter of complaint (as I needed one to formulate parts of it).

Thanks Paul - yes, she has worked there over a year, I was surprised at the time that there was no CRB when she first started but as I said in the other thread, the mother of the woman she looks after doesn't seem very au fait with the whole 'being an employer' thing - my fried even had to push for a proper contract when she first started! She's going to see the CAB when she gets a day off but there is such a wealth of knowledge on here I thought I'd put it out there for her!

The reason she pre warned them was because she had had a firm offer (on paper) with the only condition being the CRB check. As she has never had/done anything that would appear on this, she presumed that it would be fairer to her employer to come clean. A reference was also required which meant that the employer knew about the interview and naturally wanted to know the outcome.

Hope everyone is ok, I'm just on here putting off doing some work!. In case anyone was interested, I got a £10 voucher for my cheesecake troubles!

    Pad of 81p today please
