Hi all, another £1 to Barclaycard today.
My mum took me shopping today for my birthday next month (since she's just been paid). She ended up buying me some flip flops, a pair of shoes and two dresses (they were in the sale). What a kind mummy. :j Then I saw some sandals that would go with my new dresses but paid for those myself as my mum paid for my lunch and everything, they were only £12 and had 20% off as well. :j

also the father said I can give DS's money to his wife to look after for him!? I had originally planned to give the parents the bulk of the money, for safe keeping and just a small amount to DS, but am not so sure now. God that sounds awful.
I wouldn't be giving them anything to 'keep safe'!!
They could turn around after a meal and tell him that his share is £25 when he's only had a burger and chips and a drink...he'll end up paying for their steaks and wine...god, I'm so mad at them trying to take advantage  (even though that's only speculation just now)
I'd make sure DS had plenty of different notes so that if his share only comes to say £13, he can hand over £15 so and he's only paying his share of the tip. I'd also be packing loads of nutri grain/nature valley type bars so he didn't always have to fork out for brekkie (or pack a box of cornflakes )
How friendly are you with the parents? Can you ask them for a list of places they are going so you can 'make sure he has enough money' but secretly work out how much he is likey to need? or 'you'd like to book his ticket(s) ahead of time as you are uncomfortable at the thought of him going away with so much cash'I'd also set him a food budget for every day he is away...not that you should have to!
