Angelic - Feb 2011 - we'll hold you to that :rotfl::rotfl:
My DS4 thinks I've got a money tree!:rotfl: He's going away with his mate and his family on 9th July - and I thought they were staying in a hotel - you know half board - er no it's self catering and they think he'll need £350 for the week :eek::mad: If I'd known that I wouldn't have let him go on the holiday and oh yes they want £40 for his share of taxi fare  I'm not saying that I expect them to pay for him but bloody hell!!! I want him to have a good time etc but still think its a bit of a cheek inviting him and not informing me that they were staying self catering!! The holiday itself has cost £340! They gave DS a print out of costs etc and the hotel they were staying in and I'm sure it said half board but I can't find the sodding thing now! DS has informed me that he needs new clothes as well!!!:( He's managed to save £90 himself lol bless him. Feel better for getting that off my chest!
I haven't even paid for my flights yet for end of JulyI can see me not going, I've got a headache trying to work out money! I hope I win the euro tonight :rotfl:
Feb has only got 28 days
Seems a bit unfair to ask for all that money...£350 for a week seems quite alot for food and entertainment...are you sure he's going to get his money's worth?

lol 28 days!!
Well according to them, he'll need to buy his breakfast/lunch/tea and all his drinks! Plus if they go to any water parks etc he'll have to pay for them, which is fair enough.
I'm not being funny but if I took someone elses child away with me I wouldn't expect them to pay for every single drink/snack that they have or is that just me?? I know when I've took the kids to alton towers or somewhere and their friends have come, they've paid themselves in and I've bought them drinks/food/ice creams etc.
Not sure what you mean about half board not being for kids? He's paying as an adult as he's almost 16.Debt @ LBM - £25,722 Debt now - £11,811 DFD - April 2012

When you book somewhere half board, it's not always half board for the kids, just the adults. Anyway, that doesn't really matter in this situation so forget it
Seems a bit unfair really that they won't even consider paying for a bag of chips for him or a bottle of juice..are they going to go to a restaurant and tell the waiter that the little lad over there is paying his own?!
If I was you, I'd ask DS to keep all of his receipts...maybe I'm just bad minded but it seems like the wee lad is goning to get ripped off somewhere along the line!Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

My OH said more or less the same as you! He said are you sure your DS isn't paying towards the cost of their DSalso the father said I can give DS's money to his wife to look after for him!? I had originally planned to give the parents the bulk of the money, for safe keeping and just a small amount to DS, but am not so sure now. God that sounds awful.

I was thinking the same thing too. The one time I went on a camping holiday with my friend and her family, I dont remember having to pay for every single little thing but it was quite a few years ago.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Hi All!
Will post yesterday's total later today.
Payday at last!!!!!!
So, €73.13 to the savings, which is a PAD of 60.21 GBP from me.
Still waiting for my tax rebate!! Arghhhhh!! I didn't submit it until the last day though and they have til end of this month to pay up, so I expect it won't show until 30th June. However, just in case there are any issues, and in view of the fact I still have a dentist bill to pay, I have kept some money back and only sent enough to the UK to cover minimum payments.
Once it arrives, I'll send more.
Ordered the food shop last night. Also agreed with OH that I would send him €100 less this month for his share of the food for the month. That way, I can keep a tighter eye on the food budget and I'm not giving him money only to ask for it back again! lol. Lots of cooking to do tomorrow once the food shows up!
