Well I'd love to be a kid at your house this summer.
Its great that you're enjoying it as much as they are, and it must be nice to have a happy smiling mum!
Enjoy your camping, wishing you good weather

Hiya, well, we didn't go camping as we all got food poisoning but the dfw positive about this is that we spent no money and ate no food over the weekend! This is not a recommended dfw tip!January budget

Today is a chill out day so free! Might take them to the piccies on Thursday. My friend is teaching them to trampoline in her garden as she's done it for years. I just need to give her a free treatment for that...I love the bartering system!January budget

Well i'm on the home straight with just one week left. I've still got £22.22 and we've had lots of fun without paying out too much. I'm hoping to take them to the piccies next week which will be about a tenner if I take my own food. We also plan to bake, play with the guinea pigs (present from my mum and dad and they've entertained the children sooooooo much!) and go swimming a couple of times.
I think I might have two dfw savvy children. They want to re-arrange the garden incase santa brings a trampoline! I've told them that they'd need to save some money towards the trampoline as it's way to expensive for santa to pay for all of it even if it is a joint present. They've sold the climbing frame they have to my sister's friend for £40 and are in the process of making adverts for an old bike, a slide and a swing. I've said they have to find £100 towards it and my parents are making a contribution too.
So, if anyone see a trampoline (one of the big ones) in the sales can you let me know. I don't mind buying early if I save money.January budget

Wow what a fantastic holidayyour kids have had. And an education in DFWness.

They can make us so proud can't they! My hubby has just taken my two out blackberry picking so not only did we entertain them for free but we're going to get a cheap crumble too. Our neighbour has told us to help ourselves to his apples too so might do a bakeathon tomorrow.January budget

Well, the children go back to school on Tuesday. All we've done this week is things like baking, blackberry picking, play with the guinea pigs because money has gone completely up the spout.
We knew our windows needed replacing but not quite how quickly and when my daughter's window shifted in strong winds we realised we can't wait anymore. So, we've gone from having less than £500 debt to over £5000. Pis**ed off isn't the word but such is life I guess. Onwards and upwards.January budget

I think you have been absolutely fantastic this summer holiday. It just shows that all this gumph about the kids all having to go to expensive theme parks/drain on parents purses etc etc in the holidays is a load of twaddle.
I'm still first inthe queue I hope if you want to adopt? I make a mean Blue Peter letter holder from a cornflake packet and some padded sticky back plastic - my dad used his for years!
Bit poo about the windows. But I know you will take in your stride.0 -
Thanks Oakdale, your message cheered me up.
Talk about putting things into perspective though. A friend came round to see me and her husband has just been told he has cancer. Somehow I reckon they'd rather have my extra debt than what they're going through. I'm officially back on course and counting my blessings!
Right, what can I sell?January budget
