Hiya
I've decided to copy a few of you and do a debt diary. If it's anything like my spending diary it will make me feel accountable to you all for what I spend etc.
I've two days left before my children break up. I've given myself a budget of £40 for the holidays to entertain them so lets see how I do. This could be fun and that £40 doesn't include the nightly glass of wine I'm going to need to keep me sane.
Also, the more money I can make apart from my usual job (that doesn't mean dodgy money!!!! but ebay etc) can add to my budget for entertainment. So, if anyone else wants to join me in my holiday challenge please feel free.
Wish me luck!!!!

Well I'm changing my rules slightly, lol. At the moment I've got two things finishing on ebay in a few hours. They're totalling £30 at the moment. So i'm going to give myself a budget of £0 and i'm only allowed to entertain the children with extra money I make on ebay etc.
So, at the moment my summer holiday budget = £0.00January budget

One item has finished on ebay so i've now got £14.74. In addition I was very brave and joined bingo through quidsco from which i'll get £30 minus what I had to spend which was a tenner.

Yay LJD1! Well done!
Another diary to add to my list to read - thanks for starting this and a great challenge to start off with!
scottishspendaholic xMBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
Bank of Scotland = £2,782.830 -
Well I won £40 with the money I had to spend on the bingo and i've not re-spent it on the bingo.

My other item has just finished on ebay. I'm always amazed at what things sell for. With costs i've made another £30.20 for the fund. I'm really looking forward to this holiday now as I won't feel guilty about what I spend. Mind you, there's no way i'm going to need to spend all this on entertaining my children so any extra left at the end of the holiday can go towards debts. That will give me the incentive to keep going.
Summer holiday budget = £104.94 (in one day!)January budget

I've put two more items on ebay and cashed in my £18.98 from Ciao. Think my money making schemes will probably slow down a tad now though! Still, at least I'm not going to worry all summer now.
Summer holiday budget = £123.92January budget

Well done LJD.0

Well done you! Sounds like you could be staying in five star luxury at this rate. Though perhaps not such a luxury with the children... maybe the safari park?0

Lol, do you think it would be cheaper to just lock them up for holidays!
Well, the summer holidays have officially started so I have to start counting what I spend on going out from now. At least I work Thursdays and they go to their grans so that's only 6 days I need to pay for. I pay my mum in treatments (e.g. manicures, facials etc) so I don't actually have to part with any money! Wish me luck!
