    Hi everyone

I thought I would just pop by and say hello.

I decided that I needed to get some jobs done today so, I made a list and got on with them ( and I actually finished them too) Ironing:eek:
Cleaning the bathroom:eek::eek: and brushing the stairs:eek::eek::eek:(we live in a flat and the hoover won't reach without doing yourself a damage so I do it the old fashioned way)

Sorry you are having a rough time Elsie (horrible things always happen to me when OH is away too)

It has been lovely here today. Sunny and warm this morning, bit chilly this aft but still nice.

Anyway I better go cos Emmerdale has just started

Hi everyone, I've been searching everywhere for a thread like this one - where do I get my number?! I am 51, only 9, yikes, 9 years to go before retirement and I am quaking in my boots. Big, and I mean big, debts. Supporting a household of 4 adults, three of them GR~OWN MEN so just imagine what that costs - and two stocky staffies. Light bulb moment happened a couple of years ago, but still flickers on and off at random - lots of waggon falling etc.

    Hi Ninnins:hello:

Come on in, have a pew and join in whenever you want. If you have been reading our thread, you will know that we are all of a similar age, with debts, small, big and even bigger. It matters not a jot.!! :D

We all have the same aim, to try and get them sorted and try to get some savings before we get to retirement age......some of us are at that age already and still dealing with debts. We are not sane... ...I will warn you of that, especially when the virtual drinking  and pole dancing :dance:etc is going on, but its light hearted and takes our minds off the real problems.:T
I'll get your number for you.

Now that has reeeeallly brought a smile to my face! Just when I thought all was hopeless and forlorn, the mental picture ... can't keep a straight face! Pole dancing ... ! The thought of us all trying to supplement our incomes and put it towards our debt by turning our hand to pole dancing! Imagine that, the Fifty-plus pole dancers - I'm sure we'd all go down a storm - weddings, funerals, christenings, staff christmas parties, the list is endless ...!

  • Hi Ninnins

Welcome to the madhouse, but its very cosy. We're all in the same boat, trying to keep the heads above water and get rid of the pesky debt before we retire, I think you are in the right place. Commiserations on all those big boys, I've got one and a big dog and a pernickety veggie, I'm the only normal person in the house!

You are a wicked wee woman but I love it, your bro sounds like a bundle of fun, did he like the new slippers??? Hope you had fun at your day.

Thank you elsie52, 19 might be my lucky number from now on, will remember to include it in my lottery numbers - if only I could get round to doing the lottery that is!

That's just the tip of the iceberg.!!! We wear designer earrings created by our own jewelry expert Nanna58.......ring pulls from beer cans, decorated with coloured wool, she hasn't been in the jewelry trade for 20 years for nothing.!! We have charity shop clothing, cheaper the better, and the more sparkle the better. We are a very frugal lot, well we need to be. And some of us like a little tipple of an evening, not sure if its going to turn out to be one of those nights......you never can tell.:D

On a serious note, I know what you mean, I had 4 grown men to feed, not easy and I would imagine its quite easy to fall off the wagon on the debt busting front. I think quite a few of us on here are on DMP, but some are dealing wih their debts in their own way.
