Hi
love the idea of having little pots in one account. Will open one up soon.
Still trying to squirrel money away for emergency fund but so far something has cropped up each month - MOT and road tax this month.
Last month ended up £3.57 in the black. wow!
Night all. Have a good weekendDeeBee0 -
Good morning everyone.
It's Saturday and the sun in shining here in Yorkshire (at the moment that is)! I've had a bit of a lie in this morning, but my body clock is so used to getting up early, it can't tell the difference between a work day and a non work day.!!
Got a bit of shopping to do today, didn't manage to get veg from the market yesterday, by the time I had found a stall which sold buttons, for my grand daughters new cardigan, I had to run to get the bus. There used to be so many stalls which sold wool, buttons and materials, but now there is just 1. I used to love shopping at the market, every stall was taken, but now its almost empty, row after row of empty stalls.! Sad isn't it, but I think most of the younger generation don't ever shop at markets, and again is it because most people shop with debit or credit cards.?? and in the main, most stall holders are Cash only.!!
Think I'll have a word with Doris, and when she becomes Prime Minister, can she bring back markets.!!! and only CASH spending. :j
Right, off to check online banking and have another coffee.:coffee::coffee:

at least you've got a market, they've all been done away with here in Scotland or turned into a once a week mobile cheap clothing/pound shop.
I love the markets abroad, that's a proper market with proper food and I think they are all cash too.
I have a friend who is a dentist and he firmly believes all these boilings are the direct work of the devil, I maintain if we didn't eat them, he'd be out of business....................More than Two Years in

Just got my new credit card through the post!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't worry it's a pre paid one.
You get a choice of £4.99 per month and no charge for transactions or £0.99 per transaction and nothing a month.
Also free to put cash in, going to use it to keep putting the odd 20 or 30 quid in now and again as an emergency pot.
Gone for the £0.99 per transaction route.:beer:If God didn't want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat.:beer:0 -

Good idea, its nice to know that you have a bit of "back-up" money in case you need it. Do you get any interest on your money?. Not that anywhere pays a great deal of interest nowadays.

Just having a spot of lunch and then I am going to do some ebaying.!!
It takes ages to take photos etc and do the write ups, so I'm going to photograph everything this afternoon, and then load a couple of items a day. That way it will spread out, and I won't feel as if I am living at the Post Office,
when/if they sell.. Hopefully I can make enough to buy some new summer clothes for myself.!!:j

PDD, you posted on someones thread, and I can't remember whose, but you mentioned that you have opened a building society account with a Welsh B.S. Who were they.....you also said it allows you to have little pots......how does that work then, ...I want to open another account to save for bills etc:Apure_dead_dopey wrote: »Hi Elsie
its the Principality Building Society, and its their online Esaver. Once its up and running you can set up little virtual pots (wish they were big!) and while the account keeps a whole running total, it can all be divided into the wee pots. Lets you set targets and tells you if you are on them, quite cute and I like to see where the money is. Can start it with £1 so you don't have to be really flush...................
I knew following this thread would reap rewards;)
This Principality e-Saver account sounds just what I need to manage my budgets for things like birthdays, MOTs, car tax, electric, gas, haircuts, etc. etc. I want to ensure I put a littleaway each month for these and know that I am not muddling up what amount is saved for what thing - this sounds perfect:)
PDD - I am opening an account on Monday (I think from the sound of it you shold be on commission from Principality because I saw on a another thread that peeps were intending to open accounts there based on your recommendation). Anyway - are the instructions for creating virtual pots REALLY, REALLY, REALLY obvious and idiot proof - because otherwise I made need to pop back in here for a one to one session with you to guide me:rotfl:NR [STRIKE]£5542[/STRIKE]£2771 BC [STRIKE]£7987[/STRIKE]£7700 BC [STRIKE]£3000[/STRIKE]£5100 Cat1 Pd Cat2 Pd Ulstr [STRIKE]£3400[/STRIKE]£3070 TSB [STRIKE]£4851[/STRIKE]£4400 MBNA [STRIKE]£7700[/STRIKE]£3887 NWst [STRIKE]£950[/STRIKE] £700 Hfx [STRIKE]£10097[/STRIKE]£10050 Asda [STRIKE]£398[/STRIKE] £315 HFX1 Pd Hfx2 [STRIKE]£3133[/STRIKE] £3000
