Its payday which means I can check my current account balance to find out just how overdrawn I was yesterday. Hvae been a v. naughty moo and just avoided looking at it. Couldn't do anything to change it so have just made sure I didn't spend any more. Clearly thats not a very grown up thing to do but it stopped me worrying about something which I couldn't do anything about and it stopped me going any further overdrawn and into fee paying territory.... its at this point that I confess to the purchase of a porta loo isn't it. That came out of OHs pocket money account. As far as peace of mind goes its priceless. Had a few hairy moments reading reviews on our holiday destination.... wonderful. Shame about the overflowing portaloos.... since we now have our own this really isn't a problem plus it means we can pitch further away from everyone else.

Today is OHs last day off. Not entirely sure what his plans were but the appearance of a picture of a battery on my dashboard apparently means that today will be spent locating a new alternator. Hopefully he'll be able to fit it too although the conversation was peppered with rather too many we's for my liking.

Need to pack for the DDs weekend away at some point as they depart tomorrow. Yipee!

The double glazing needs replacing far sooner than I thought. The difference in noise level between being indoors in last nights howling gale and outdoors in it was minimal at best but coupled with the rattling of many windows and doors mean I feel ilke a walking zombie. Sadly I look worse than I feel. Nothing short of a paperbag over my head is capable of disguising the big black circles under my eyes. Meh.

Still it is the very very very last day of term. Whooppeee. Just a leavers service to get through and then the school is all mine for six weeks with the exception of the minor annoyance of job interviews on Monday, the kids from holiday club on any day that it rains and of course my favouriate behaviourally challenged peeps to keep me on my toes. Will be starting the decorating to morrow with just the minor inconvenience that is a lack of paint requiring someone to go to the specialist supplier of overpriced goods to schools. Hopefully I can do that this morning although the boss has been threatening to do it all week in order to exert some form of control over the finances. I think mostly its to stop me purchasing an array of v. brightly coloured paints in order to paint two giant Elmers in Early Years. Am assuming it will take longer to paint Elmer than it will to do an entire toilet block but it will be way more fun.

Had lots of fun clearing out cupboards yesterday which has resulted in the aquisition of la bin bag full of opened flour, cake decorating stuff, assorted dried fuits, oats and syrup. Should keep me going in baking ingredients for quite some time. Also recieved my cheque from DooYoo.

The best part of the entire day was the 20 minutes spent confirming various wires were correctly connected in readiness for tomorrow. Proved this by attempting several dances on Wii lets Dance which has left me wanting it for home as I suspect DD1 will have as much fun with it as I did. I have Amazon vouchers buring a hole in my pocket depite blowing some on a specialist Ace Dictionary for DD1 at the recommendation of her special needs teacher as its phonetics based rather than following the traditional format. Hopefully this will help her to spell independently.

DDs are packed. Have to do a mini bathroom blitz and load the dishwasher before my parents appear at some point after lunch. Hopefully that and a quick whoosh around will the vac will suffice as amazingly the place is relatively tidy. For me anyway.

On a major mega negative despite studiously avoiding using my bank account I ende up £80 overdrawn which is way more than the £10 I thought I was thanks to lots of DDs which I'd conveniently forgotten about. Means I have less money than I though this month. May well need to start writing down just what I do spend as I have been woefully neglectful of this and haven't entered anything in my spending diary since May.

  • I love Just dance, it is very addictive, but when the kiddies decide to put on who let the dogs out for the 20th time in a row, you do start to feel suicidal.

Dscovered I can get Just Dance from Mr T for £15.69 if I wait 10 days or £16.50 if I collect it in store tomorrow but pay for the priviledge of collecting it or order something I don't want and immediately return it so as to avoid paying to collect but forking out for fuel to do this. Such a stupid way of doing things. Whilst on official company business as a paid personal shopper aka gopher and general dogsbody since I was the only person in the entire building with nothing better to do I got to do the emergency dash for printer ink which took me via Mr Ts entertainment department, of course this was entirely necessary in order to avoid paying to park. Really it was. Was all excited until I discovered it was 20 sodding quid in store. V.V.V. frustrating. Decided not to buy it on principal. I might be impatient but I'm not prepared to pay almost a fiver more because of it. Its not like I could spend all this afternoon playing it instead of doing a mini pre-parental inspection tidy. I mean that just wouldn't be right. It would be fun though.

Am now wasting a ridiculous amouont of time finding the cheapest way to do this but have yet to part with any cash. Keep thinking the Amazon option is the most sensible as technically its a freebie and I don't have to feel quite as guilty about buying frivolous and wholly unnescessary things on a whim... but the tight arsed Northerner in me thinks it should be aquired in the cheapest way possible which means parting with actual cash. Aaaagh. Why am I beating myself up over a game? Tis truly ridiculous.

Meanwhile car still has a v. distracting warning light on the dashboard. Cause currently unknown as the alternator appears to be fully functional. Have wiggled and dismantled lots of things in the hopes of finding the cause. Currently waiting to see what else goes wrong in the hopes that gives us a bit more of a clue what, if anything, is wrong.

Have finally eradicated handprints from bottom of stairs and even loaded dishwasher so as to make kitchen look vaguely tideir and gain a small amount of cupboard space. Hopefully one more lot of washing up will tidy up the kitchen sufficiently. Really not in the mood for housework though.

I am childless! As with anything involving my parents things didn't go according to plan. In theroy they were due to arrive here, have a cuppa, bung the DDs stuff in their car, go to school and collect two very excited children att he gate. Instead they arrive half an hour after school ended by which time DD1 was in tears. Shes only just realised half her friends are going to high school and that coupled with a forgetful granny was more than she could cope with. Fortunately by the time they phoned last night to say granny had fed DD2 to a passing horse and they were eating muffins for supper they were both much more cherful.

OH and I splurged and had take out kebab for dinner since I didn't get home until 7:30. School was a major disaster zone so ended up leaving tons to do today. Did want to start decorating but I fear I may end up vacuuming for an hour or so first. Have promised to be home by two so as to let dogs out and walk them before pootling about for a bit and having a wardrobe dilema. We're going out to dinner tonight but I haven't delved in the back of my wardrobe for yonk and haven't a clue what to wear. Whilst having fond memories of wearing dress A to dinner in Cyprus (circa 1997) and buying dress B from a goth shop whilst at uni (circa 1996) and a fab dress I purchased for a v. posh dinner in 1998 it gives you an idea of the geriatric nature of the conents. Worse still I'm not exactly a horder. I fear there are only three dresses in there and quite possibly as many skirts - goth shop (1997), dads wedding (barely pregnant with DD1 1999) and a Rohan classic (2004ish). I need to get out more.

Perhaps I need to revamp my wardrobe and chuck out anything thats not been worn in the last decade. Daft thing is its crammed full of stuff, although of the three hanging rails only one is mine. The rest is OHs and hes overflowed into DD1s wardrobe as there wasn't enough space. Doesn't really explain why he bought two new shirts last week does it?
