Moo, those sock breeding experiments tend thrive under beds and behind cupboards in my daughter's room ;)
But, she has now taken to wearing odd socks.....I did wonder why I would end up several odd luminous socks every week....unfortunately, she hasn't explained the code and I pair the odd ones up wrong *confused*
And, in this house, black socks tend to go a variety of shades, from greeny-black to greyey-black *very confused*

    That is the sad truth.

I'm very tempted to follow you & throw the whole lot in the bin, there are still some little girly socks in there when the youngest little girly in the house is now 16. Still there must be some pairs longing to be together again.

Fling, fling, fling. Whats the point of keeping socks that are too small? Am currently torn between being uber ruthless and keeping the DDs first shoes just so that I can go "see your feet were that small" at some point in the distant future. Mad innit.

Spoke to OH lst night, hes hoping to be home in time for dinner which means feeding everyone properly unlike the past few nights where dinner has been an ecclectic concotion of the assorted dregs of numerous cardboard boxes slapped under the grill and abandoned for 20 minutes whilst I ran around attempting to be super woman. It is resulting in a reduction in the stuff crammed in the freezer although I keep discovering various oddities like OHs frozen fishing bait and rather a lot of garlic bread.

Plans for today involve the creative drying of two more loads of laundry, one of which is already in the machine. This would be made considerably easier if it would stop raining for a couple of hours. Am guessing thats rather unlikely though. Need to find another fifty or so things to chuck out in order to complete that part of the challenge and then a manic tidy up should see me putting 50 things away in proper homes although looking at the disaster surrounding the tv I fear this could be achieved just by putting various DVDs, CDs and games back on the shelf. After that a morning of housework should mean I achieve everything on my to do list apart from the ironing which I can do this evening so the DDs and I can spend the afternoon leaping around like lunatics in the hopes of actually folowing the routines on Just Dance.

Off to make a start by slapping something in the slow cooker for dinner and doing the mountain of washing up that seems to have materialised in the kitchen. Have a copy of Garndeners World to read before returning it to the postal survey people who very kindly loan me such things so as to assess how quickly these things arrive. I much prefer the trashy mags with free chocolate though. Not that I read the trashy mags but its always nice to recieve chocolate.

Need to do a mini money shuffle in order to make sure I qualify for this months Halifax free fiver as well as having enough cash in the right place to cover the cheques I've written and the outgoing DDs.

First lot of washing up done. Abandoned the idea of slowcooking something when I discovered there was nothing slowcookable in the freezer. Clearly I've done too good a job of reducing the contents. Instead I've unearthed a box of spahg bol which will do as a jacket supd filling for me and some bratwurst which will keep OH and the DDs happy. I can adapt to appetites as required so that if OH arrives later than planned he can have sausage sandwiches for supper or I can put a spud and some veg with them as a meal when I feed the DDs.

Banking and flinging are next on the list after a quick shower and some breakfast. Hopefully slapping on daytime clothes will eliminate the day off slobbing about mindframe that I appear to have woken up with. Have too much to do to spend the day meandering through life like a laydee who lunches.

Fifty items flung. Gone are the nail varnishes which make me look like a walking corpse. Clueless why I ever thought a bluey purple was going to be a good colour. More concerning is not content with discovering this was a ghastly choice on one occassion I clearly made this blunder at least twice more. Have turfed all the cheap junk jewellery I aquired as a teenage. I've not worn it in a decade. I bought it during my attempting to fit in stage, the one all teenagers go through before realising they are not a carbon copy of the most popular girl in school. Took me a long time to realise that being the school wierdo was just one of those things. Mind you that say individual lack of style had me labelled as a dyke at uni which was a fab way of getting rid of the losers and one that still comes in handy when lechy blokes grope me at random. I prefer my pricks battery powered leaves most men speachless, especially when you lean over and whisper it in their ear.

So whilst I'm being super duper ruthless does anyone know of anyone that has a use for a real honest to god barely used genuine deluxe Sony Walkman of the cassette playing variety? Yep, I'm that much of a dinosaur.

My girly carp shelf in the wardrobe is now vaguely neater than it was earlier this morning. I have unearthed yet more shower gels and moisturisers. Apart from a minor blip I haven't bought any in almost a year and I fear at the rate I'm going it will be another two before I need to do so. Not entirely sure how I acumulated so much stuff apart from partaking in braindead shopping sprees.

Next on the agenda is the putting away of 50 random objects before my next coffee break. DD2 is muttering about lunch whilst DD1 has just emerged from her pit and is munching breakfast.

Still at least all this decluttering is paying off. I have unearthed a £10 off a £70 spend at Mr Ts. Problem is it has to be used by the first of August. Will comeup with an essentials list involving cereals and shed loads of dog food plus lots of storecupboard staples. I fear a meal plan may well be required.

Fifty items put away at warp speed. Tis amazing how fast you can get things done when someone phones to tell you they are on their way over. In this case it was one of DD2 friends who has come for the afternoon. Haven't seen either of the DDs since he arrived complete with a kids knitting kit. Apparently his mum thought I could teach him to knit whilst hes here. Eeek. Not entirely sure I can remember how. Haven't knitted anything since DD2 was at preschool when I made everyone scarves for Christmas as a way to avoid spending cash on gifts. Still it has made things progress much faster than they would otherwise have done, especially as at the time the phone rang I was engrossed in leaping up and down lasooing an imaginary horse.

Banking done. Everything shuffled that needs shuffling. Have moved enough through the Halifax account to qualify for this months fiver although theres no sign of my direct debits yet so consequently no sign of the free fifty quid either.Money from Pure Profile has arrived along with a v. small cheque from Music Magpie still every little bit makes an impact even if it is only a ripple.

Have given in and stuck the washing in the drier. Next load is in the machine and having bunged my head round DD1s door its going to take at least another two loads to get on top of everything.

Finding turfing stuff oput rather therapeutic. Clearly its something you need to bne in the mood to do but now I've started theres no stopping me. Off to turf out another 50 items before feeding the hordes.

TOns more stuff turfed out. All the sort of random stuff that should have departed years ago like coat hangers for age 2-3 clothes. Theres no shortage of empty hangers or at least there wasn't until I chucked several dozen of the things. Had a mini blitz of the medicine cabinet turfing out stuff thats way way way beyond reusing. Have also whizzed around the kitchen getting to the bottom of the washing up pile. More amazingly I've found the bottm of the laundry basket. Just need to dry the final load and then I can tackle the ironing although theres really no that much. Theres a lot to be said for folding stuff whilst its still warm from the tumble drier.

Its one of those rare days where I miss being a stay at home mum.

40 minutes later I have been insulted by a ten year old who announced that one of the cyber dancers is "an old woman like you" a comment which was preceeded bya shooked Look! Great. Am now hot and sweaty with a muscular ache in the vague region of my rib cage. DD2 and her friend are now showing me just how it should be done despite him being adament it was a naff game for girls. Ten minutes in the kid was dancing behind us and 30 minutes later he was begging to have a go. Definately the game to play on an otherwise abysmally depressing grey wet day.

Off to read Gardeners World in peace whilst they play on.
