Ow! That sounds most painful Trying to be good, have you considered simply wallpapering over the existing wallpaper thereby adding an additional layer of insualtion to your walls and removing the need to spend an eternity with a bucket of filler patching the walls to cover up the bits that departed with the wallpaper.

Have had a most disturbed night. Came downstairs at 3am to the sort of noises that indicate the house is being burgled, the same noises it appears that an 8 year old playing shoot 'em ups on the PC makes. Despite DD2s protestations that she wasn't at all tired she was firmly plonked back into bed where she managed to snore for a further couple of hours before reappearing full of bounce marginally before 6. Meh.
Spent most of yesterday avoiding doing anything much in the hopes that the less I do the faster my muscles will heal. Obviously this was completely negated when I arrived at school to discover that the new cleaner was a figment of someone elses imagination compounded by a delay in the arrival of my other cleaner meant I spent the evening running round like a headless chicken doing the bare minimum v. badly. No doubt there will be lots and lots of whinges today but since I've intentionally neglected to do those bits ocupied by the whingers this is not exactly a surprise. Will make sure their many complaints are directed at the boss by hiding outdoors for the duration of the morning. Tis one of those scenarios where the complaints of the many will have far more influence on things than me being knackered does.
Wind seems to have dropped although we're now on flood alert and have to take many detours to get anywhere as the river has burst its banks shutting quite a few roads.
Spent £80 on roofing materials yesterday in anticipation of spending today salvaging the shed roof before we get hit by the next batch of winds or the imminent rain. Pretty sure that will occupy the majority of the day.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Batten down the hatches Moo. Weather here has been bad but nowhere near as bad as Powys where people were rescued from their houses.
Sounds like your DD is full of beans at the moment. Is she always like that? Another reason why I know I should never have children. Having said that my own Moo had me up all night as he wanted to sleep at the top of the stairs and he knows he isnt allowed there so he just kept banging on the gate and howlingNeedless to say he is now snoring and refusing to wake up to go for his walk.

Morning all!
No rain here as yet although we're getting everybody elses leftovers. Sheep are being moved from fields by boat which is quite entertaining to watch although not so entertaining when you attept to persuade a v. soggy sheep to get out of a boat and into a sheep trailer. Still its an interesting way to spend a morning. Wouldn't want to wrestle with an irate sheep on a regular basis though.
Shed roof is now repaired and caked in creosote. Hoping to get the waterproofing painted on it today so it can be refelted.
In theory my new cleaner starts today although since I've been told that twice so far this week I'm not holding out much hope that todays the day. Life will be much easier if it is but if not I'm sure we'll survive although I'm super kettled at the end of the day at the mo.
Managed to get the ironing done yesterday so the DDs have clean doboks for Thursdays martial arts class. Now need to source a different type of martial arts uniform for Fridays class since DD2s t-shirt came back ripped from last weeks class. Its going to be far cheaper in the long run. Made the mistake of looing into gradings as Thursdays instructor claims they'll be ready for their first one in another month. £40 each for membership followed by £30 each to grade and then a fiver each for passport photos. Eeek. Hadn't anticipated it being that expensive. Also need to whip up £60 for DD1s shooting club membership. Seem to be going through an inordinately expensive patch.
DD2 slept through the night and is still snoring away. Think last night was just one of those nights, she has them once in a while, usually caused by excitement or fear of missing something. Shes currently plotting her salt dough project for the Eisteddfod which is simples compared to DD1s articulated dragon. Guess what OH will be assisting with over half term. They also have to learn two recitations, one English, one Welsh as well as a song. Oh joy. Hoping I can find something on You-tube otherwise we have to figure out the pronunciations before they can start learning the things. Kitten is behaving badly. Having dragged a 3D doggy shaped handbag from somewhere high up and safe hes now arranged it into a submissive pose and is humping away quite happily. Tis most definately a good job hes booked in to have his bits chopped off in a couple of weeks time since DD1 won't be at all impressed if she catches him.

Kitten is becoming an asexual being the day after Valentines Day. He spent most of yesterday calling to his handbag even though she was swinging on the washing line. Tis a most pathetic sight but not one I could stand for another fortnight.
Spent most of yesterday attaching roofing felt to shed. Discovered that 20m isn't quite going to be enough so will be buying another roll today in order to finish off. Tis most annoying because I still have rather a lot of the other two rolls left, just not enough to finish the job. At least it means there will be plenty left over to reroof the chook sheds again since they've taken a battering over the winter. Tis turning into a very long and costly job. Was almost tempted to work out whether it would be cheaper to roof it with slate although that would take even longer to do and I'm pretty sure the roof isn't steep enough to stop the wind blowing the water up underneath the slates.
Managed to do a teeny bit of laundry but really need to vacuum and load the dishwasher and wash up. Place is a tip. Anyone would think I hadn't done any housework since the weekend.... just glad we've no visitors until at least Saturday.
Meanwhile my new cleaner started yesterday. Despite what her application form says I'd be amazed if she'd ever worked as a commercial cleaner before. The womans ability to waste time is legendary. Kept finding her winding to hoover cable back into the vacuum in order to pick the vacuum up and move it to the next socket in the corridor so that she could unwind the cable and continue vacuuming. Slow is an understatement. Am attempting to be patient but keep being told that at her last job after wiping over the sinks they then polished them to make them shiny. Yes, great but we haven't got the time... ooooh but in my old school... bla bla bla. Am hoping she cathes on fast and speeds up considerably since I ended up staying late again last night to do all the things she hadn't got round to doing on account of the need for shiny taps.
Meanwhile the same woman in her lovely nylon council issued uniform was outraged when discovering that the rest of us don't wear a uniform, not even tabards and suggested to the boss that he ordered some to make us all look smart and efficient. Meh. I think not. This as the same conversation thats resulted in the other cleaner being told that she can spend twice as much time as she normally spends at school working in the holidays for minimum wage on overtime instead of spending time on holiday or with her children whilst working her third job which is the only one she does in the holiday. What a nightmare. Am hoping that the woman figures out just how much work shes expected to do and gets on with it or sees sense and goes back to her nice cushy relief role where she doesn't usually do toilets...... aaaaaaghhhhhhhh.... what is it with cleaners that don't do toilets? Can you tell I'm fuming?
Soooo having been v. nice yesterday and shown the new cleaner what shes expected to do I'm planning to leave her to get on with it today with minimal interference in the hopes that shock tactics speed her up and allow me to get on with a few things that need doing but which I haven't been able to do.
Abused my clicky finger quite considerably yesterday and purchased heavy duty martial arts togs for both DDs. Still need to find DD2 a smaller dobok for the kickboxing class. Most annoying that both sports need different types of kit but at least they've not been horrendously expensive to buy.
Plans for today involve purchasing more roofing felt and finishing the shed roof. Anything else I get done will be an added bonus.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
I too have a kitten that's using and abusing anything remotely fluffy/soft/sits still long enough. I think he's creating more washing than the rest of the family put together. Roll on "chop day"!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

And yet again I feel left out of the gang. I too have a kitten that is due for a fun day out at the vets. But he's just being a kitten (a very annoying kitten), but isn't humping anything. Have I reared him incorrectly? Is he a late developer? Does he need counselling? He did try jumping on the edge of the bath this morning, but missed spectacularly and ended up in a heap inside it. Sadly the bath was empty at the time so I got only a giggle out of it rather than the belly laugh I could have had."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0
