a very true statement my dear:D
Hows the cleaning going. I am picturing a rather sharp looking lean as a stick lady at the moment and her shouting directions like SCHNELL!!!!
I am still sitting on my derriere (spelling?)
Temperature way too high!!!!!!!! Will I ever feel well again and will I ever get this house clean.

I really hoped there would be an update on the cleaner I am intrigued

Had today all mapped out in my mind. Was planning to leave work around 9:30 spend half an hour putting last nights washing up away, wash up the breakfast stuff, rinse off the other side of the hob bits and quickly tidy up any last minute debris which gave me time to grab a cuppa and go to the loo (v. crucial when anticipating an hour and a half in a v. v. cold indoor arena) before puppy school.
Rather amazingly we left home early. That should have been the first indication that things were going to go tits up. The second indication happened between leaving the house and getting in the car. More snow. Meh. Got to school on time. Pootled about doing time killing things under the illusion of escaping early. At 9:05 the electrician who was supposed to come yesterday arrived. 45 minutes of v. dull ladder footing later he was just wraping up when some poor council lackey arrived to survey every sink, toilet, urinal, radiator and light in the place for an energy efficiency survey. Of course the boss diplomatically delegated and so the poor woman got the abreviated whistle stop tour and had to resort to abreviations to keep up with me. Did feel a bit sorry for her but seems she was quite happy. Seems smaller schools take three or even four times as long to tour which makes her day v. v. long.
Departed school with 10 minutes to get home, harness up the hound and get to doggy school. Of course this was completely unrealistic. Even 20 minutes would have been a rush but what I hadn't anticipated was walking in the house to the hound from hell performing warp speed donuts in the former contents of a 3kg bag of cat litter which was interspersed with a large quantity of kindling. Threw both dogs out, atempted to sweep up, thought better of it and left the dust cloud to settle arriving at puppy school a mere 15 minutes late. The juvenile delinquent was most attentive which is unsurprising considering the barage of abuse hurled in her direction a mere ten minutes earlier. Amazingly class finished on time leaving me 25 minutes to nip to the vets to collect medication. Scoffed a chunk of homemade lemon cake washed down with amug of v. hot tea risking scalded tonsils but since its included in the price of the class it seemed silly not to partake besides which I needed the heat from the mug to thaw my fingers enough to drive.
Arrived at the vets with tons of time to spare just as the man from the pet crematorium turned up to collect a freezer full of corpses. A very long time later finally got the stuff I'd nipped in for and legged it home with a minnute to spare to find the cleaner was early and had been waiting for ten minutes.
Chucked the hound from hell into the garden and commenced clearing surplus stuff from the path of the human whirlwind whilst attempting to clear up the cat litter. Discovered the kitten had christened it. Lovely!
Finally stopped for a cuppa two and a quarter hours after she'd arrived. Am staggered at the difference its made. She mopped everywhere mopable, bleached and rinsed all the tiles in the bathroom. Hoovered, dusted, washed up and even cleaned the manky hob bits that were still in the sink. Then she started washing down the doors and the windows and the skirting boards. House looks considerably better than I'd dared imagine.
Total expenditure £15, 1 dozen eggs and 3/4 of a litre of Flash. The woman is clearly not human! Nor will she be back ... although I really wish she was. Am most tempted to ask her to put me on her list of people she calls when she has a cancellation but fear OH wouldn't like the stipulation that she only works when the house is either totally empty of other lifeforms or she can boss you around. Tis like being the new recruit at cleaning lady boot camp.
Am now knackered but happy and am sitting in an oasis of paw print free tranquility. Would assume by the time OH has been home 24 hours things will be pretty much back to normal but for now its clean, its shiny and its all mine!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

I dont know about the cleaner being a whirlwind, I was out of breath as I was reading the post trying (imaginatively) to keep up with your whirling of activity.
there is nothing nicer than a clean house to relax in (unless of course it is done by somebody else and that is heaven)
For £15 it sounds like a pure investment and money saving. Imagine how long it would have taken for you to get through all of that on your own. Sell it to OH as giving you more time to help him in the garden or something. It is really a moneysaving investment. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. thats great Moo
Enjoy it and just think what it will be like when you are clutter free and then you should get her back to help you do a blitz. I know what you mean about her not being human. Some people are amazing cleaning machines!!! I would love to be like that.
Ah well you cant be good looking, intelligentand a domestic goddess :rotfl:. Though 2 out of 3 aint bad!!!!:D

Can I borrow her? Although I think I would take the empty house option

Was rudely awoken at 2:30am by DD1 who decided that it was very important that she told me she loved me. Not sure what was on her mind but after half an hour of wriggling we gave in and snuck downstairs for hot chocolate and toast. She managed to snuggle up and drop off immediately whilst I remained wide awake for quite some time. Awoke shortly after falling asleep to find the alarm blaring away. Am most grateful tomorrow is Saturday and I can lie in for as long as I want to. Not that this will actually happen but a girl can dream.
Need to spend this morning working miracles so that DD2s v. manky dressing gown is clean enough to go in her suitcase. Also need to pack enough stuff for them to get them through an entire weekend of muddy walks and panto trips plus whatever else is planned.
I have no plans for the weekend, not a sausage, not until the retrieval of the DDs and the collection of the dobok on Sunday. Not a clue what I'll actually do. I have a mild urge to jog around the block but since that would cover multiple miles thats somehow unlikely, doubt I'd make it half way down the road without impersonating a wheezing tomato.
Need to mop the kitchen floor this morning, the only thing that didn't get done yesterday thanks to a shortage of both time and Flash. May well improvise with bubble bath or washing up liquid or some such since I don't have time to go to a shop and mop the floor. Also need to muck out the chickens and locate a couple of books that I promised Granny could read once I'd done with them.
Am still most amazed how big the house looks now that everything is clean and shiny. Of course that reminds me that I have to deal with the stuff I crammed in my wardrobe knowing the cleaner definately wouldn't be going in there. That could take up a fair chunk of the day. Also have a few more bits to list of flea bay. Bleugh. Tis shaping up to be a day just like any other although one in which I have the sort of house that is not making me think Oh My God granny is due in half a day and the place is a shoite hole... made worse by walking into every room and seeing toothpaste in the sink and paw prints on the floor etc etc.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Whilst Dora the Explorer bubble bath isn't as useless as some of the value cleaners its not exactly great either but the floor is free of mud which was the aim even if it isn't gleaming.
Not a clue when Granny is turning up. Need to get a move on and pack just in case its sooner rather than later. Also need to slap OHs dinner in the slow cooker although that will have to wait until the floor dries. After that I need to venture outdoors into the sub arctic temperature to wash the muddy paw prints off the windows. Its gloriously sunny outside but the mud is making the place seem dark and dingy.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
