  • I'd just like to post on behalf of the MSE Forum Team to express my, and our, extreme sadness at the passing of EdInvestor.

The Forum is a sadder place through losing one of our most well respected and integral contributors and we can only hope that her contributions and memory serve as an inspiration for others in tackling money and wider issues.

I'll raise a glass in her memory.

    Cheers, Ed. And cheerio.
  • Very sorry to hear the sad news. I have been reading Ed's posts for years and though I did not know her personally, I feel a sense of loss. Her posts usually made me sit up and take notice - normally because I realised I needed to do more to get my finances sorted out and take more of an interest in what can be a dry and unnecessarily complicated subject, i.e. pensions.

Ed tried very hard to make things simpler for the rest of us and I respect her for that.

Very sorry to hear this news, and my thoughts are with EdInvestor's family and friends.

She was very generous to give up so much time and knowledge to help others, at no gain to herself, she will be sadly missed.

She was always worth reading, sadly a rare attribute in this or any forum.

Thanks to baby_boomer for letting us know.

I so agree with the above post and I wonder if users would like to link to some posts/threads where EdInvestor's help or opinion perhaps made them stop and think or gave them the push to, as others have said, to sort out their finances.

I remember this post as one which went straight to the point and was so right although nothing to do with Pensions but all to do with the possibility of the loss of the free bus pass, something she cared about.

The many posts written above mourning her passing say it all. I echo each one.

Thank you Ed for your endless enthusiasm and generosity of time.

My condolences go to her family and friends. x

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I must confess I always thought she was a he, the Ed being the clue. She gave excellent advice, and in such a way that the layperson could understand it, which was an immense help.

Rest in Peace, you will be sorely missed.
I always pictured "Ed" as an old man, passing on his years of accumulated wisdom! I'm sorry she is dead and, as many have said, I think her posts will be much missed.

Very sad news indeed and will be much missed - I know I have read much of
Ed 's contributions and she has probably also contributed to some of my own questions - condolences to her loved ones
