Although I only knew Ed through her postings on MSE, news of her death has really saddened my evening in a way I wouldn't have expected.
With hindsight, I'm not at all surprised that she'd been a campaigning journalist before retirement. She was extremely knowledgeable and forthright in her views and when she "was on one" never let the facts get too much in the way of a good story!
Many individuals with problems have benefited from her knowledge, advice and helpfulness. Many more of us, myself included, have learned from her long experience and expertise in financial matters.
MSE forums will be a little diminished by her passing and I hope B_B will convey the sentiments expressed to her family.0 -
Also sorry to see her passing. A lively poster who knew her stuff.0

Very sad to hear this. She was an excellent contributor to this forum.0

Loads of great advice, I did wonder where her info came from because it varied and in the main accurate and her battles with our friendy financial advisor were legendary and friendly in the main.
RIP. I will miss you loads'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

I also benefited from her kindly and sensible advice, and this is such sad news.
RIP EdInvestor, and sympathy to her family.~cottager0 -
Sad news. I benefited from her advice more than once and loved the 'sparing' with other posters, as I suspect did she.

How very sad - I shall miss her posts enormously. And her 'debates' with other regular posters.0
