Thanks for letting us know, Baby_Boomer. Very sad to hear this, and condolences to her family and friends.

Soon before A day, Edinvestor gave me the courage to go ahead and take on transferring and managing my husband`s pension. I did the intense studying because of her and I sacked our IFA and bit the bullet. We have not looked back and now reap the rewards as we go into old age, much better off because of Edinvestor
Thank you from the bottom of my heart Edinvestor, you will be sorely missed. Thank you for your time and for your advice and for your always interesting posts.0 -
I am so, so sorry.
I didn't realise she was the same generation as myself, or that she was FancyFree50 on Motley Fool.
I too campaigned vigorously for the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 - until that Act became law my younger daughter was prevented from doing metalwork and technical drawing in school (from a young age she wanted to become an engineer). I also campaigned for independent taxation, was humiliated by the tax office writing to my husband about my tax affairs, and that did not change until 1990.
We shall not see her like again.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

So sorry to hear the news. I knew Ed from her posts on DT and family board around the time I joined and when some among us were going haywire
her calmness had a huge influence on everyone. My thoughts are with her family and friends.

Nobody can say they didn't learn a lot from reading, and sometimes disagreeing with Ed's posts.

I hope B_B will convey the sentiments expressed to her family.
Several of you have explained in detail how Ed's advice was invaluable to you personally.
Two instances stand out for me.
On her only visit to my home, she immediately spotted the key affordable improvement that three housing professionals had missed.
And when the FTSE100 was last at 6,000+ (many moons ago) I asked her about the advisability of investing a fairly significant lump sum. She advised I wait until the FTSE had dropped to 5,000 at least, which saved my bacon.0 -
I'm really sorry to hear about this, she was a fantastic forummer to have around, and thoughts with her familyFormer MSE team member0

Such selflessness giving so much time to help others for no return or personal gain. She will be sorely missed.

What awful news, the thoughts and condolences of the MSE team and I go to Ed Investor's family. While I didn't know EdInvestor in the non-virtual world, we've both agreed and cross swords on a number of occassions on here. Every time her posts were informed, educated and aimed at helping. Its only on reading tradgic news like this that you realise how much you'll miss someone. Our wishes go with all who knew her and all she helped on here and elsewhere.
We will of course ensure EdInvestors profile will be closed, but her wisdom will live on in her posts - which i hope many on these forums, and from google will continue to benefit from.

PS Just for the sake of propriety, I haven't verified the sad news of Ed Investor passing away, but have no reason to doubt baby-boomers kind post above.

I know it is unusual but is it possible to send a wreath on behalf of MSE?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is.
