There is Orange County in USbut no Orange mobile as far as I know.
Phone can be used over there as long as its unlocked - or you can use the the sim as it is but its obviously going to cost a fortune to use sim over there. Orange UK might have roaming on the tariff but you would need to look at costs of that.
Best bet is sell phone to pay off part of the line rental.0 -
When orange and tmobile merge you SHOULD have a much better chance of carrying it over. Tmobile are big in the US...0
-
That will be interesting to see what happens when they merge - but its only the UK businesses which are going into a joint venture, the US t-mobile arm should remain separate you would think.
They could call the new UK company OrangeT or OrangeT with Apples or --- wonder what the slogan will be
Future is bright, Future is T

You will need a tri-band or quad-band phone for it to work in the US. It needs to operate on the 850Mhz and/or 1900Mhz frequency bands. The UK uses 900 and 1800. 3G is different as well and the UK 3G frequency does not work there.0 -
If you are emigrating at the end of the year, there will only be 6 months left on your contract (or thereabouts). I'd sell the phone and pay the balance. Or give it to a family member and let them have the use of it.
Don't forget to formally give notice to cancel the contract though!
Good luck in your new life!I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
