I have just had a flyer from Daxon (clothes and household items )and with any order they will send a free steam cleaner! That must be a money saving tip! Not sure how effective it would be as I have not used one but previous posts from readers seem to be satified with them!0

If you pop a couple of alka selzer into your loo for a couple of hours, give it a quick brush, it gets rid of limescale and grot from under the waterline. This may work in baths too but i haven;t tried it myself0

Aldi are doing a hand held steam cleaner in the next few days for a modest sum. http://uk.aldi.com/special_buys/productnl_339.html0

If you already have a wallpaper stripper you can get attatcments from B&Q fairly cheaply to use it as a steam cleaner.0

Wouldn't using a steamer be unsanitary, what with the particles of what was on the toilet being blasted into the surrounding air with steam?0

I can second the steam cleaner. I invested in one from ebay with attachments and there doesn't seem much I can't do with it! The floors are done in a fraction of the time, kitchen, bathroom (tiles included!), toilet, dog bowl, upholstery. It cleans so easily, which is what I need with a messy toddler around! Would thoroughly recommend one!0

A third for the steam cleaner/wallpaper stripper, we got one from Argos (look under wallpaper stripper) it was only about £25 and came with several attachements. I used it on Sunday night to steam clean the large rug in my living room and it came up like new. Going to give the loo a clean with it tomorrow.0
