If as Mr Ed suggests that young kids understand the implications of what they do, maybe we should reduce the voting age to allow them to vote.

If there was a defining line of right and wrong when voting, voting would be so much easier. :)

don't worry lir. most who express strong views that are not held by the majority expect gang ridicule. i've had it on here myself. there is possibly even something in the outsider mentality that seeks out gang ridicule. it's fairly safe on an anonymous internet forum too.

All this is very nice, but the inmates have been given 93mGBP in dole payments, so its actually irrelevant (and incorrect). Just because there is a statute it doesn't mean its being followed or interpreted in the same manner as you have interpreted it.

    Wrong again.

Dole payments are JSA. I've quoted you the legislation which states that prisoners can't get JSA. Therefore they're not getting "dole", JSA or any other benefits.

You're relying on a daily express (hah!) article.

Are you suggesting the daily express is more correct than the entire DWP, the wardens responsible for prisoners, and the actual law of the land?

Re-read the article. Re-read my response.

you have no evidence to show that people aren't simply born evil. you carve out excuse after excuse about abuse, broken home, learning problems etc etc but never just "he was bad". I think sometimes the simple obvious answer is the correct one.

if someone is born evil that is even more reason that they should not be killed. surely you need free will to justify punishment. if someone is born evil then that is in effect a form of disability and society should shoulder the burden of managing that evil person so that they cannot do harm.

i for one think there is a sanctity of human life that should be respected no matter what the person has done. the only excuse that could be given is self defence in the heat of the moment.

on the benefits issue...there was outcry a few years ago when it was discovered that millions had been paid out to inmates in benefits as a result of fraudulent claims. some of this no doubt still goes on.

regarding legitimate benefits they do get £2.50 a week if the prison is unable to provide enough prison work placements.

the daily mail is up in arms about it.
