Day 2. More snow. No trains. Still at home.

    Bored.

Do you have everything you need at home?

Looking at our weather forecast we should get a good thaw here at the weekend, which is good as one of our water troughs is empty and they are working their way through a second, s thawing so they can refill will make my life easier for the next freeze!

Pretty much thawed here. Temperature above freezing now. Bits of snow still on the ground from last Friday night but the sun's out and it's warm. I sat out in the garden earlier with a short sleeved T shirt on.

wow! The OS board has a thread called ''Is your heating on or off' that gets very , um ..heated :D with people not approving of some of us who by choice or otherwise skimp on heating. Even I wouldn't be outside today in just a t shirt! My parents have had a big flurry, about half a foot, lst night over what they already had. Its tricky there, on a hill and a bend.

Amazing! I didn't think North Koreans were allowed access to the internet;).

We've even put the heating on in the bedroom for the first time in 4 years, albeit on a very low setting.

Yes, the problem is we do. I'm getting a bit cabin fever, we've had over a foot last night on top of everything yesterday.

To be fair, I am only minutes away from 3 smallish supermarkets. If I go out, I just buy more food and we don't need anymore!! :rotfl:

It's still falling steadily here, not even flurries. :( I thought it was all over yesterday when it had a pause about 3pm.

I'd be a designated driver, but I wouldn't want to drink Coke. It's not clear to me whether other things are included or just fizzy pop..

    I agree.

I wonder if dentists will be up in arms about this? Or nutritionists?
I'd like to see a good film now. I've had my delivery (they came in a small van because they couldn't get the lorries out!) and I'm ''off duty'' now till later...gave them lunch v. early outside while I was out there as they were nosy about what was going on. So a good film would be just right.

    Good films.

I am now looking at Poole/Bournemouth as areas to move to. There's nothing in West Dorset at all.

Rents don't change though, wherever you go. Rent + council tax + basic bills all add up to having to be very careful where you pick or you can't afford to travel to a job you might land as there's not enough left over for the luxury of bus travel :)

You really need to be a couple these days to do more than eke out a basic existence on a sink estate.

    :)

So, I found a job I could at least apply for ... sent my CV off... and got a reply back that the employer is only recruiting currently local people, or people with a strong local connection.

    pfft.

Still snowing heavily here, roads blocked, port shut, schools closing...but not my ones!

Now getting very nervous about the school pick up, it was bad enough this morning but now the conditions are so much worse and there is a rather horrible hump back bridge that we just about made it over this morning, it would be impassable by now. The other problem is if they close the hill roads (which they did last year - we were luckily the last car through before they shut the last hill road to the upper town part), if they do it before school pick up, the boys will be stranded and I would struggle to get to them, do it after the pick up but before we get home and we will all be stranded not able to get home!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
