Well, my view is you probably should pay a little; if you go to someone like hostgator or godaddy, you can get a decent web package for a few pounds a month, which provides wordpress as standard... register a cheap domain, and use a free theme, and you can have quite a good website up for less than £25 a year.

You see to me this reads:

    OK, well, ifyouasknicelypasturesnewwillprobablydexplainitinrealenglish ;).

Or, maybe I can do it? ... the reason I think if you actually have a web site you should pay a little bit of money to have it hosted by a professional company is that it means the website will stay up most of the time, and the company hosting your web site won't go bust. There are ways to have a web site that doesn't cost much money to set up.

I am quite interested in what this new business will do, basically, because I am a bit of a nerd and businesses excite the nerd in me.

    :)

Yes, I'd rather pay and not have to panic about anything I don't understand. I think techy friends could probably be persuaded to help with setting up/design but after that want to be independent from ''favours''. There is more emotional importance to me in being a little..independent, to have current interest of ''my own''...than there is financial benefit ATM. In the future I would hope to be able to make a contribution to the household too. In the foreseeable future though, its mainly a bit of fluff. TBH if I were brutal I would admit its a bit like a rich girls' daddy buying her a Royal Boroughs shop so she can be an entrepreneur ;):o but lets not spoil it for me, eh? ;)

I think you are being a little over modest. You are very intelligent, and I have no doubt that your business will be a success. Most businesses start off small, but just because it starts off small doesn't mean it will end that way.

So has anyone else had any probs, or has it just been me and essotwo?

Could it be connected to mse's other recent glitches?

Still have to log in each time - it doesn't remember me.

Off thing was that earlier, I was logged in during the day while I was out. Didn't log me out. But when I logged out, this afternoon, I couldn't log back in - it didn't recognise my pasword.

Is it possible for someone else to log in as you when you're already logged in, and change the password without logging you out?

    Head frying.

To stop the logging out issue, you need to change your bookmark to http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/index.php . Once I did that, I have stayed logged in again.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

PN...come on, you have been talking to me for how long...you know I can't do it. ;)

In fact, I don't need it..yet, for advertising, not ready for that, but will need it to be somewhat..interactive when ready. I reckon I can doodle along for a couple of years yet.

Tomterm, nothing too exciting to anyone but me. :o
It's actually getting easier and easier every week. I'm staggered now by how easy it is.

The trick is, though, to get it with the right companies in the first instance.... something I've spectacularly failed to do a number of times over the years.

So, top tip: Always get stuff with the bigger boys. Forget small companies.

But, for example, you could create a facebook page free of charge.

Has anyone else suffered what my email told me I had this morning?

Apparently someone tried to hack into my mse account 5 times this morning, before being 'locked' out.

    Wonder who that was?

Never happened to me before - anyone else?

Should add, in case they succeed - if someone posting as me starts posting some very uncharacteristic stuff, then be aware...

It sounds more like a sick prank than a sinister hacking attempt to me, so please don't give them the satisfaction of letting it worry you.

I am always excited by the marketing opportunities of a business :)

I love marketing. And numbers. And marketing is numbers really, when it all boils down.

    Marketing = Numbers + Logic.

I hope the new business isn't cake-making .... she already loses most of that potential profit.

Maybe she's designed a new style of welly boot, for people who need to scale scaffolding in farmyards and paint windows. Handy hooks on the side for paintbrushes.

Just to say, I'm always logged-in when I get here, though I did do something once, maybe twice, and got locked out. Can't remember what it was, unfortunately. Then, I couldn't remember my password , but I have it stashed away now, just in case.

Eventually, we want to have a small web presence, more for fun than making big $.

Last week, I Googled the domain name I bought years ago, and discovered, to my great amusement, that someone else had decided to use the same name, but had been forced to write 'shropshire' at the end of it. As it is quite a long name, this makes it utterly ridiculous. :p
