I'm stuffed. Pizza filled me up. It was a thin base one too! And the little pot of cheesecake to follow.... really had to work hard to fit that in.
Gluttony..... Isn't it lovely!0 -
One of the feral cats has come in. We've got him!!!!
not sure what to do now, till Monday and the vet.
He's in our big dog crate with a cover for privacy, but a way to see out if he wants. He has a cat bed, some litter (I know he won't know what it is, so we got it out of our cats' tray) and we have a feliway diffuser on. he's being brave but obviously feels a bit unsure.0 -
I'm sure he's in good hands.:)0

I keep having to log in again whenever I open my browser, very change only been like this for the last day. (And I have ticked the "remember me" button, but it still forgets me.
But I do have a thanks button.
Same here.
I've emptied my browser cache and it's still the same on chrome or IE9, must be a problem with the forum.
I've also had the "new" forum for as long as i can remember.0 -

My own closedmindedness I guess.
I used to work in an advice centre. Whenever there was a really starnge or unusual enquiry, the manager always used to ask if it was a full moon.
Co-incidentally, a full moon was always about when we did get the really wierd ones. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Well, I am finally buying a house.
I feel almost guilty for letting the bears down, especially dopester, who has been very kind and supportive to me.
However, this is the house I want. I've liked it since it first went on the market in 2008 (when I hadn't got any money and couldn't think of buying it). I am looking in a very small area (catchment for a particular school, minus the flood zone across the middle of it) and I want particular features that are hard to find (lots of separate downstairs rooms, and South facing aspect). I've been watching the market in this area of town, and in two and a half years I've seen four houses that have tempted me (two already the size I want and two I would have had to extend). Of those four houses, only one genuinely ticks all my boxes without any necessity for me to do major building work, and this is it. It will suit my needs for the foreseeable future - potentially for decades since I am very happily settled here for the long haul.
The market here is stagnant - prices holding up and the few houses that do sell going for quite high prices, but very low volumes. I am convinced that HP will fall, but I think that the falls will be slower and smaller than average for nice 4-bed detached houses in catchment areas for really excellent schools in pleasant towns. The chances of anything else I would want to buy coming onto the market in the next few months are rather slim, and I am afraid that if prices fall much further supply will dry up even more. Also, I have to move within the next 11 months or so, because I want to be living across that side of town by the time we put in ds's application for secondary school.
I have the opportunity to buy the house I love for £45k less than peak asking, using late-nearly-ex's life insurance payout and a small loan that I can afford to repay.
So, sorry dopester and others, but I am going to buy it and then stop caring what HP do and get on with my life (although probably still dropping in on the "nice people").
:T
Who gives a monkeys stuff? As long as you are happy - that is the most important thing.
And at the end of the day, if it is what you want, wouldn't you be letting yourself down by not going for it?
Best of luck to you! & Much happiness!:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Last night, I had a stonkingly huge chinese (buffet), followed by lemon yoghurt cheesecake.
I love cheesecake. I really could eat it all day everyday.
I have, in the past, eaten so much cheesecake it has been physically painful...:oIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
