Sounds a bit melty... I think I'd prefer chocolate in my house, rather than house in chocolate...

But look at the fun you'd have making it open plan :D

Come back soon treliac, me thanks couts are suffering:(;)

Of course I wouldn't ignore you lj, as if!!!

DS has settled well into uni and course. Seems to be making lots of new friends.

DD's feeling a little more challenged atm both with the course and the long drive, being a fairly new and inexperienced driver. Still, she's got a very nice room/study now.

I was randomly wandering around and stumbled across a user called Nohope on the debt diaries.... read the whole thing and can't stop crying :(

I'm such a soppy mare sometimes.

Well, I am finally buying a house.

I am going to buy it and then stop caring what HP do and get on with my life (although probably still dropping in on the "nice people").

Wonderful news Lydia. Hear hear to your second point. It's clearly the right thing for you to do. Hope you'll all be very happy there. :j

Of those four houses, only one genuinely ticks all my boxes without any necessity for me to do major building work, and this is it. It will suit my needs for the foreseeable future - potentially for decades since I am very happily settled here for the long haul.

Hi Lydia - I'm flattered I got a mention in your post - on your major announcement to let us know you've come to a decision and are proceeding.

The only thing I want, and all the regulars want, is for you to be happy, and if all the figures check-out and you're happy, then I'm happy for you too.

It sounds like you're not compromising as well, but getting a house you geninuely are happy with. (Cant remember the exact details but there was another thread I think where you were considering complicated extension to a house.) I hope you and your family will be very happy in your new home for years to come - with it in your preferred school catchment area ect. You must be excited, to soon be moving out of rented and to finally have your own home. :)

Congratulations Lydia, I am sure you feel more settled now that you finally made the decision.

It has got to be the best outcome for you and your family.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I feel almost guilty for letting the bears down, especially dopester, who has been very kind and supportive to me.

    That's brilliant news, Lydia! :j:beer: :j

I wondered if they'd play games and make you wait over the weekend, but your vendors are clearly keen to get on with things too now.

I don't think you have let anyone down. You've researched your local market, followed it for a good length of time, explored various options, and now, armed with that experience, you've made a reasoned judgement which takes many factors into account.

Now, you and your family can start the next chapter, which is very likely to be more fun than the past year or two living 'on-hold!'

All the very best to you all. :)
