I really must get some sort of waterproof cover for my monitor...
Excellent news all round sue!
On the chocolate front, I have been dabbling in cooking/baking recently, & have made chocolate concrete - never had it before in my life (to be honest, had never heard of it until recently...)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Chocolate concrete??? Sounds like something the local council used to fix up the pot holes round here last time..... No wonder they are so bad after the winter we have just been through (second thoughts, chocolate concrete would probably do a better job than the previous carp.......;))SMILE....they will wonder what you are up to...........;)0 -
A cook from our local school provided me with a breakdown of the recipe for chocolate concrete which we all loved at school. My five year old daughter and I tried it out and it was perfect! Great with pink custard or on it's own.
- 160g/5 1/2 oz Butter or marg
- 1 Egg
- 25g/1 oz Cocoa powder
- 225g/8 oz Self raising flour
- 175g/6 oz Granulated sugar
Melt the butter, add the sugar & mix well. Add the flour and cocoa & mix well until you have a stiff consistency. Beat the egg and gently mix into the flour mixture.
Put the mixture into a greased 30cmx18cm (12"x7") baking tray, gently press into the corners and flatten into the tin.
Sprinkle with a little water and place in the top half of the oven for 45 minutes.
Then remove from oven and sprinkle with sugar.
Allow to cool for 5 mins then cut into required size pieces and place on a wire tray. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

My mum's doggy, the one I've been faffing about with at the vets for months now, just died.
She was at the vets and under anaesthetic. I'm glad I stayed with her while she went under for the op.

I'm not sure whether to thank this, as it may appear that I'm thanking thenews...
Does that make sense?

Sorry to hear that, but I think you maybe feel like me regarding sick animals; if there's no great hope, I don't want to prolong things.
That was a kind way to go, for both of you.
If it will cheer you up a bit, imagine the scene outside my front door yesterday early a.m. where a c-o-c-k pheasant had both my cats cornered and clearly terrified. They are complete townies.0 -
It makes sense LJ. Yes Davesnave, its preferable. we were really unprepared, having spent months now trying to get to the bottom of a mystery illness...we thought today was a simple neuter and raised her from where she was scaned to where the surgery would be...and they called on my way back abnd said they'd opened her up...and....to do anyhing else would have been ...not according to our own belief.
I love a cocky bird! My rooster has recently decided to test the water at bossing me about. He's a nice bird, just pushing boundaries a little, so we're having some training sessions: causing considerable mirth among my neighbours. We have no offspring by him yet, after last years dramas and I'm keen to have some of his genes in my little flock this year.edit: I don't know if I've shared here our flocks love for small rodents? The cats get mugged on the way in if they have to come through the chickens to get home. Its disgusting buy hilarious to see them all sprint around chasing whoever got the dead rodent.............

We only have 2 cats now and have decided not to replace them when they either die of old age or get run over as I can't bear the feeling of loss. It's so silly, but we have lost so many cats to roads it has finally beaten me. I really feel how you feel. I am now at the stage where I don't want more pets as I can't bear the loss if they get ill or hurt.
Stupid Ginger (the rescue cat who still has issues after...I lose track....10 years?) sit's in the middle of the bluddy road washing himself. It's more dangerous as it's so quiet but some plonka then drives down it 60mph.
I tell him off (sad I know) but does he listen? Nope..goes out the front and saunters really slowly across the road....stops to have a yowl at 'Ginger and White' who lives across the road (not a babyboomer cat) and I just dread the day a car nips along and hits him.
Dear Daphne (who lives in the house with Palais de Versailles design references) has become his second home and she is besotted with him.....she doesn't know we move away in July.0 -

Aww the poor thing...I was the same, I didn't know whether to thank or not as it is sad news, it just didn't feel right to do so.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
