Well, another day passed ... and I've still not picked something... I guess I'm reading too much into it. As I have to do all the market research and costings and put those into a business plan and make a powerpoint presentation for potential investors to see ... I feel an obligation to do it properly. But ultimately it'll just be a marks/tick list: did she mention market size, Yes, 1 point. Did she mention SSL, Yes, 1 point. Did she do costings, Yes, 1 point.

If you want costings and stuff you can use my products if you like.

Just PM me, you can lift the pics of my site and I will PM you the sums. If she thinks it's an odd product, well......it sells so that's what counts I guess.

Sell green tomato chutney... online... or cakes: delicious, double chocolate with extra chocolate.

I think if you have blight, its better to crop the tomatoes ASAP, even if they are not red, wash them, and then put them in a box with a bananna & a lid.

I've done that. Which is why I have 5kilos. I have pulled off every single leaf, and literally there are stems and trusses outside to turn for a bit. If we get rain in the next few days they are all coming in.

I always get optimistic. There are 15 plants outside :( Tomorrow I am deleafing the greenhouse and next year tomatoes get started in January!!

There are products that will protect against blight, as there are against spider mite and other difficult pests, but they aren't available to the general public. I suppose those in control think they are protecting the public from themselves, but I'm glad that loopholes still exist, which I can just about squeeze through. ;)

Without a couple of chemical weed controls, I'd be finding life here very hard, but I try to be responsible. In practice, that means going out for days on end with a knapsack sprayer and accurately, but mind-numbingly, targeting individual nasties, rather than bringing-in a guy with an ATV to blast everything.

I also have a red spider control that dates back to the 1990s and is therefore 'illegal.' One litre has lasted me nearly 20 years and I reckon it will go on for another ten at the rate I use it. Because it isn't used, except in extremis, the little beggars have no resistance and it works a treat. The trouble with 'consumer level' remedies is that they are over-used, so resistant strains soon emerge.

I haven't used any controls on the tomatoes, ever, and I don't want to, but the way blight is hitting us, year after year now, I must admit I'm thinking about it. :(

No idea what they taste like but there are new strains of blight-resistant tomatoes each year. Ferline, Legend, fantasio and probably some new ones.

I'm going to mix that and some short season ones. No point trying to grow med tomatoes when blight seems inevitable year on year.

We lost all our tomatoes and most of our potatoes to blight last year; you have my sympathies.

My bizzy lizzies have lost all their leaves!! Look odd with flowers on the end of naked stalks. I think DS didn't take his garden watering task seriously enough while we were on holiday :(

Carol, what happens to all the veg you planted in the old place - did you transfer it when you moved, or do the new tenants get the benefit of your hard work?

A little was in pots. That came with us. The rest was at our allotment - we're not giving that one up! So no new tenants there... :)

There were two rose bushes I'd given my OH which we'd planted in the front garden - we dug them up and took them with us.

We have generously left our daffs etc spring bulbs, so new tenants can enjoy spring flowers next year thanks to us. But that's it.
