Sell green tomato chutney... online... or cakes: delicious, double chocolate with extra chocolate.

I think if you have blight, its better to crop the tomatoes ASAP, even if they are not red, wash them, and then put them in a box with a bananna & a lid.

Well, another day passed ... and I've still not picked something... I guess I'm reading too much into it. As I have to do all the market research and costings and put those into a business plan and make a powerpoint presentation for potential investors to see ... I feel an obligation to do it properly. But ultimately it'll just be a marks/tick list: did she mention market size, Yes, 1 point. Did she mention SSL, Yes, 1 point. Did she do costings, Yes, 1 point.

Blight has hit us too, though not in the polytunnel, yet. It won't be long though. :(

Just back from the village show. No firsts, but a four seconds, plus a disqualified. Three garlic instead of five....the shame! :o

What about cider vinegar PN? Good niche market product, not well-known, could be organic, possible to use it on animals and for the treatment of arthritis in people. Some of our neighbours here swear by it.

    Evening all,

Lots of pages to catch up on, so a quick recap:

carolt, congratulations on the move. Hope you're all very happy in new house!

Pastures, don't overthink it. Unless the product is a big part of the mark, just pick something from the suggestions (driftwood frames, socks, etc) and just run with it. You'll earn the marks on the bit you're good with.

misskool, good luck with the tomatoes! Thank goodness tomterm8 seems to know so much about tomatoes!

Finally to everyone who expressed an interest in Bletchley Park earlier in the year I came across this book and thought it looked interesting:

    I think that's everything. Phew!

We're thinking if / what we could sell online. Seems worth a try if you can think of the right product, source and sell at the right price and be easily Google accessed. :)

What should I plant in my pots for the winter?

My moneysaving tip is to have mini firs and box plants, which I can keep trimmed, in the middle of tubs and to plant different seasonal flowers round the outside. They still look okay if there are in-between times with no flowers too!

    HOW TRUE THESE ARE
Let's put the seniors in jail and the criminals in a nursing home.
This way the seniors would have access to showers, hobbies and
    walks.
They'd receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical
treatment, wheel chairs etc and they'd receive money instead of
    paying it out.
They would have constant video monitoring, so they could be helped
instantly, if they fell, or needed assistance.
Bedding would be washed twice a week, and all clothing would be
ironed and returned to them. A guard would check on them every 20
minutes and bring their meals and snacks to their cell.
They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.
They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual
    counseling, pool and education.
Simple clothing, shoes, slippers, PJ's and legal aid would be free,
    on request.
Private, secure rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard, with
    gardens.
Each senior could have a PC a TV radio and daily phone calls.
There would be a board of directors to hear complaints, and the
guards would have a code of conduct that would be strictly adhered
    to.

The "criminals" would get cold food, be left all alone and
    unsupervised.
Lights off at 8pm, and showers once a week.
Live in a tiny room and pay £900.00 per month and have no hope of
    ever getting out.
    Justice for all we say.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
