    It's at a pivotal point.

Will McLaren get back, will Ferrari be the ones to take the challenge to Red Bull or will you get to the spa and back unnoticed :D

Yes, I want to know that too.

Although I have trouble remembering who's 'he' and who's 'she' even if they're not pretending to be something they're not.

Carol, Sue, lir, NDG, viva, PN, misskool, wageslave & fc are all 'she's. So is Clutton over on the house board. Cleaver, Davesnave, GD & Hamish are all 'he's. There was debate about lemonjelly and I can't remember how it ended.

I tend to assume that people calling themselves things like Malcolm and michaels are 'he', and people calling themselves things like Ellie2758 are 'she', but you never know. I replied to a poster on the house board called iolanthe07 and said 'she' because Iolanthe is a female name, but it turns out he's a bloke. Likewise, with a screen name like Lydia (and a sig that refers to me as 'she'), I was a little surprised when Fourcandles told me I sounded like a "nice chap", but I appreciated the sentiment regardless.

As for leveller, sss555s, ISTL etc, I never have any idea.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

So what I am wondering is how Malcolm can be so certain about Carol - care to comment, Carol?

There is something very masculine about LemonJelly's writing style.

I never realised clutton was a 'she.' I knew that the poster came from Clutton near Bristol and worked as an estate agent.

Not sure why I assumed 'she' was a 'he.' After all, I've instructed a female EA before, having chosen her in preference to a couple of men.

Maybe it's just my perception that Clutton is a male-sounding name, whereas if she'd chosen 'Chelwood,' it would have sounded more feminine......or am I just spouting nonsense here?

Isn't there a national estate agency that advertises in the homes section of the Sunday Times called clutton? I thought they were one and the same.

To add to the list: Treliac is definitely female and I'm pretty sure that lynzpower, sjay and wymondham are too.

I didn't think about what gender clutton was, I just though they worked for cluttons :o.

I'm pretty sure that bendix, amcluescent, chucky, dopester, GrahamDevon, IM, purch and thrug are male.

ETA: sorry silvercar, I missed you off my list. I have you down as female too.

The one that confuses me is The_White_Horse, who may be a gelding. Now that we also have white horse I find it quite amusing as their views seem quite diametrically opposed.

    I doubt it.....

Can't believe the Clutton of Cluttons would advise on MSE, but she could work for them, I suppose.

Lots of people name themselves after the place where they live. e.g. Mambury and Wymondham. :)

Thereby destroying anonymity. I always worry that someone I know may also be posting on here and some things I post do reveal more about my finances than I would necessarily tell all my friends. Plus a lack of posting could indicate an empty house (though we had access to the net on holiday this year, so I did pop on occasionally).

I'm rambling now, but talking of anonymity, something may happen that is a new venture (business and lifestyle). (sort of housing related- ish) and I thought of posting to get opinions and then I thought whether I wanted it associated with my ID. And then I thought it was more chatty than advice seeking, so I thought of posting here or whether I should put it on the other side, so its not so public.

    True. :)
