I thought it was obviously girlie to be bothered about the colour of your car, but the mere mention of "car" led to people assuming I was male. So I added an avatar that was jewellery, still didn't convey the message.
BTW my car isn't silver, nor is it the shape in the avatar.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Re the gender debate, I never knew wymondham was female - thought they were a bloke. silvercar foxed me initially too.
Funny as i thought the same
I wasn't sure about viva when i first arrived here but i'm pretty sure now.
I usually have an opinion early on and get a surprise on about 10%0 -

I've a horrible feeling it's something like the da vinci code...:(
Well, OK. I wasn't completly honest. I am actually reading quite a lot of things at the moment.
I am reading:
Robert-Houdin's The Secrets of Conjuring and Magic
Banachek -Psychological SubtletiesHow To Win Friends And Influence People By Dale CarnegieFor pleasure I am reading Harry Potter et les Reliques de la Mort (slowly, since I am very bad at reading french) and Modern French GrammarFor work... well, the normal internet forums are boring me to death.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Interesting. I have this:
but have never got round to reading it. Learning some magic has never got beyond being an aspiration.
I can't read more than 1 text at a time.Have to focus fully on the 1 book.
I also can't read in any other language. Can I ask if there is a reason why you're reading in french? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
What's Haringey? Ally Pally?
Sorry,I got my 'geys' and 'gays' muddled-up, but I'm not the only one:

Harringay Arena was a stadium, like Wembley, and similarly famed for its greyound racing and speedway during the 1950s. I was pretty hot on both as a kid, though as my Dad was General Foreman at Wembley, I did most of my watching there.

I never realised clutton was a 'she.' I knew that the poster came from Clutton near Bristol and worked as an estate agent.
Not sure why I assumed 'she' was a 'he.' After all, I've instructed a female EA before, having chosen her in preference to a couple of men.
Maybe it's just my perception that Clutton is a male-sounding name, whereas if she'd chosen 'Chelwood,' it would have sounded more feminine......or am I just spouting nonsense here?
I revealed my shock at discovering Clutton was a she in the last week...I too thought she was a he!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

That's a good book, but you should not read it as your first card magic book. Most of the stuff there is very difficult. Better to get hold of the royal road to card magic, by the same author.
The royal road will take at least a year to work through. If you master the first two chapters, a palm, a couple of forces, a couple of glimpses, a double lift and a false shuffle and maybe 4 tricks you will be near a professional level at card magic.
Yes... there is a reason I'm reading it in French... I want to learn french, and I think reading easy things in a foreign language is the best way to learn how to read.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Yes, it did appear a little technical.:o
Thanks for the suggestion. Despite my conversation with viva the other day, I've added your suggestion to my books to buy list.:)
I'm wondering whether to ask you why you are learning french, without coming over all blackadder...:DIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Confessing a total inability to learn any foreign language, I would have thought that the danger of learning a foreign language by concentrating on reading means you could be teaching yourself really bad pronunciation.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
