A council has ruled against closing a lay-by to prevent people meeting for outdoor sex at a popular beauty spot.

I knew a Wiflred Owen once..............

That's dogging, I learned about it here.

    Ok books needed.....

Regeneration by Pat Barker (1991 version)
    Journey’s End by R.C Sherriff (Heinemann) 1928
Scars Upon My Heart ed. Reilly (Virago) 1981
book of extracts covering all four genres published by Nelson Thornes
    ISBN 978-0-7487-8294-9
All Quiet on the Western Front Erich Maria Remarque (Vintage) 1929 (text in translation) - brother has this one and is bringing it up tomorrow.
Blackadder Goes Forth Curtis, Elton etc (Penguin) 1986 (Script) - have found a book that contains all the scripts from the Blackadder series on Amazon.

The above is all for the English AS level, which is based on the 1st world war literature.

Film Studies AS The Essential Introduction (2008 Specification)
Sarah Casey Benyahia, Freddie Gaffney and John White
    (Routledge ISBN: 978-0-415-45433-9)

AS Religious Studies – Tyler and Reid
    The Shack
    The Reader
    Sophie`s Choice

Think that is the list for now...there are a few others but they can be got later on.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Hi Sue,

Don't have any of those myself but will have a look on the booksales trolley to see whether there are any that I can pick up. The ones that should be easiest to get are The Reader and Sophie's Choice, as they've both gone off the boil following film adaptations. Regeneration is a pretty common title too.

When I was lad my gran use to make the best Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding. The beef joint was always cooked above the Yorkshires so all of those lovelly beef juices dripped onto the puds below.....It was never soggy, always crisp and full of flavour......

After lunch if there was any Yorkshire pudding left,it was left to cool and we would spread homemade Strawberry Jam on the laftover pudding .........

It tasted fantastic, all that concentrated beef flavours mixed with Strawberry jam.............

My question is, is this just a softy Southern dessert or is it a more nationwide pudding??....Ive wondered for years and as this is one of those nice fluffy threads I thought id ask....Wonder if it deserves its own Poll?? :D

Help, about 9 pages to catch up.

Actually, not too bad for a couple of weeks - you lot must have been slacking. :D

    So did I miss anything?

And can anyone explain the link between Wilfred Owen and Yorkshire pudding, ie without reading back through several days of posts, are both continuations of previous discussions, or is this thread just unravelling as it continues?

    Welcome back Carol!

We've gone from latin to courgettes before, so Wilfred Owen to Yorkshire Pudding shouldn't come as that much of a surprise.
