I have been reading these last few posts with wonder and awe, and no I'm not taking the mick, wow....where do you learn to do all this? I am genuinely amazed!|
I have so much to do....:DI learnt by first understanding that blackberries grew in hedgerows for free and as long as you picked above dog-leg height you could eat as much as you could pick. It just went on from there. I haven't yet got quite to eating dandelions and other usual weeds and we went to learn how to pick mushrooms but I'm terrified of picking death caps so we haven't been out yet. :rotfl:
It's very weird because I grew up in the city so never understood nature and wildlife and things. It's very *satisfying* to grow something.0 -
oh dear, I think gardening replaces sex in the middle agedAspiring_Writer wrote: »That sounds logical LIR, having that knowledge and intuition passed down to you. I like foraging at boot fairs, flea markets and er, ebay. Used to buy and sell quite a bit, may get back into it now I think. I know thats probably not what you meant by foraging, but art, antique furniture, books and classic cars are my thing so I suppose each to his or her own.
A bit of light gardening though, I am becoming quite interested, maybe its my age! ....(shakes head and smiles...)Ellie :cool:

Wouldn't want to do that in my garden. Too overlooked.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Well....is five oodles?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
We have to grab the chance as and when it arrives! The youngest is still at the age where they have to sleep in our room after watching Dr Who, and the older ones are at the age where they stay up until goodness only knows what time chatting on Facebook or watching DVDs.
So we now seem to be sneaking around and grabbing whatever chance alone that we get!. It's like being a teenager all over again:o0 -
