I've been doing various pottering things with my plants. I desperately need to get my slug defences sorted, & some canes, & some extra pots to move plants into. Trouble is I really don't have time at the mo.

Looked at some of the brocolli yeatersday & it was well dry. Gave it a good watering.

Repotted some tomato plants which really needed moving up.

I am desperate to move up my courgette plants, but have run out of pots. If I get my canes & slug traps this weekend I'll be able to do this, as the beans, sprouts & brocolli will all go into the ground, leaving me pots a plenty.

Work is getting very busy now, plus loads are on tenderhooks worried about cutbacks. I'm trying not to worry about that, as georgies 22 june budget will only make matters worse. Starting to feel that I need a break though - roll on the bank holiday weekend! That 4 day break could be a lifesaver.

I still haven't decided what will be the next book to read yet either...:(

There just doesn't appear to be enough time available to do anything at the moment!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

when was i we talked about dim sum? I've been craving it for months since then....any way, finally got some today :) felt very good to FINALLY satisfy the craving!

very tired and still have no news. Paid the deposit in to the solicitor presuming everything will go ahead. They wanted to charge for this..even though I'd gone to his branch to facilitate this and we were moving the money from an account at the same bank. So I asked how much it cost to withdraw money...they said nothing, I asked how much to pay in they said nothing, so I suggested that might be a better way to do it. Daunted by the prospect of actually counting the deposit out they did the transfer.

First time I've been in London for AGES, and a fleeting visit. I can't believe Charing Cross road old borders is now going to open as a TK max. I can' rememebr what it was before borders though...so..., anyway, all the book shops gone felt odd. Everything seemed really grubby but neither too quiet nor too busy. Whats the deal with cloths sales now though? whistles have a dress I like, but not getting it. In fact, now all the dough is spoken for it seemed there are lots of lovely things to buy rofl. Doesn't matter I eschew clothes anyway, I don't like the size I'd be buying!

Spend the £££ on tiles instead...and a cess pit. Much more useful.:o

I haven't walked up Ch X rd for years. A TK Maxx? The soul of London is being destroyed by these chains.

Don't.....I have slacked off on the tin foil sandwiches and flasks.....I just couldn't carry them plus the samples....lame excuse :o
So OH and I pop into an indie old style sandwich place in Knightsbride and I had tuna/mayo and salad baguette and a strange (yet arty) water and OH had a toasted ciabatta and another strange (yet arty) water....when he drank it he said 'at what point did really watered down squash become so expensive? ''.
    How much???.....

£13.45  and no tea afterwards

I seem to hang out in Soho these days when in London. Went to see Hair last week with OH (well, I got tickets and dragged him along; his gay colleague who's been raving about it apparently raised eyebrows when OH said he was going, as my OH isn't exactly a musicals kind-of-guy ;) - but actually we both enjoyed it). Ended up lunching in Soho and dining in Covent Garden. Rather full. (Fat smilie :p.)

I really recommend Hair, BTW - if anyone else fancies a girly trip to London, I'd be up for seeing it again (and I think once is probably enough for OH, so I'm open to offers if any other girlies fancy an overdue night out ;)).

Lots of audience participation involved - you can dance on the stage with the stars at the end if the mood takes you... :)

Do love Soho. Kind of sleazy, but very alive, somehow...

It's moving. We've got some collaborators, now my problem is that I have to get my boss to agree to what I want to do. Will be interesting as I've told her I'm planning on leaving.

Just pouring olive oil in my ear. Most disconcerting. OH thinks I've gone mental.

What job are you going to do instead? Hope the ears are better too....

Ears have gone a bit better thanks. :)

and not sure yet what I'll be doing and the whole world is changing at the moment. Probably something involving communications and science. But they are few and scarce and a big jump when I've spent 10 years doing one thing and one thing only :D

Hope you sorted the viewing issue with the LA.

lir: there's to be a topshop in knightsbridge as well now, was a piece in the standard today. Prices for everything always seem ridiculous in London, I picked up lunch today, salad and fruit bowl (£6.50 :( )

I felt a bit intimidated by Soho, but maybe that's because it was famous among 13 year old Devon schoolboys in the 60s. As pubescent yoofs, we were all terrified of catching a social disease, although by the time I moved to London, there seemed no chance of that! We used to go up there for the Chinese, or for faggots, peas and mash at a genuine old greasy spoon cafe. :rotfl:

I remember when 'Hair' first opened and, again, I felt uneasy. The idea of dancing around with a load of naked people put me off. I was OK with nakedness, and we all had lots of hair, but somehow the idea of cavorting about worried me. This was because every rock concert was ruined by 'idiot dancers' who threw themselves around in the aisles and upset us cool people, who came to hear the deeply 'significant' music. I was into being seriously hippie, so the concept of simple, fun-filled alternativeness upset my new world view.

So, hey-ho it was back to the flat and two more hours of Leonard Cohen...:(

Are you going to leave and have a bit of a gap or hunt for the right thing then go? I know what you mean about the 10 year thing too....

The viewing thing is a massive PITA and I cannot believe how dodgy the LA are, misleading people. I have a link to EHO and it doesn't really meet the standards reqd nowadays...but I don't want bad karma either if I report her....but it was the families with young kids wandering around that bothered me as the LA was lying through his teeth. They all dismissed it though as it was so obviously unsuitable.

Just a week ago, I am having serious serious doubt about the path we have chosen to tread for our business...nothing bad....just it's not feeling as right as it did and the money (though I shouldn't say this as I don't want it taken the wrong way) is very much liked but I feel I am losing something. I can't put my finger on it........
