It's moving. We've got some collaborators, now my problem is that I have to get my boss to agree to what I want to do. Will be interesting as I've told her I'm planning on leaving.
Just pouring olive oil in my ear. Most disconcerting. OH thinks I've gone mental.0 -
They're not a great selling point though as this property proves. Called 'Thunderbox Cottage,' it's been on the market for ages:

How unutterably gorgeous! I want it - same price as a bog-standard house here with postage-stamp garden... Bit of a long commute to work/school, but almost worth it.
Drool.
Don't get the outside loo ref, though? Is that the 'thunderbox' or something?

I love that place!
One of the joys of buyig will be NEVER dealing with Rural Scene again. I like to think I am a fairly reasonable person but so rude was one of their agents I feel very poorly inclined ever to view through them. such a shame, my parents sold through them, once maybe twice before in the past....0 -

Pembridge is very pleasant; it's on the 'Black & White Trail.' So is Eardisland, next door (but don't mention the flooding!)
I used to contact/view through Rural Scene. I remember either getting someone who sounded like a confused granny, or a chap who spoke like a car sales rep.0 -
Just out of interest why did you pick it?
It's the lead character's name in one of my favourite films, Night of the Hunter.
"The wedding night, the anticipation, the kiss, the knife, BUT ABOVE ALL... THE SUSPENSE!"
Starring Robert Mitchum, Shelley Winters and Lillian Gish and directed by Charles Laughton. An amazing film for its time (1955)."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0 -
have had a blocked ear for 2 days now and it's not going away
lir: hope it all goes through
I wouldn't presume to give medical advice - I may be (mostly) quiet but I like it here - but if you have a little google on blocked ears, sinuses and garlic, you will see why I take 6 garlic tablets per day when my ears play up. Echinachea helps me too
Hope something works, its a misery inducing ailment.Peek-a-boo0 -
Well eldest had a bit of an eek start to his GCSE's......he was doing his RE exam on a laptop in a seperate room because of his hand and wrist problems and 20 minutes into the exam, one of the laptops crashed! All the students had to stop what they were doing and sit there staring at the wall until the laptop was sorted....it got sorted, they started up again and then another one went pop! So all had to stop again, stare at the wall again (they were not allowed to look at the paper in this time, or do any work in preparation for the laptops coming back online) and let the nerves get the better of them.
I have spoken to the exam officer and they will make a note of the difficulties experienced during the exam but it has concerned me as this was one of the exams eldest is predicted an A* in!
Apparently it was a problem which should have been sorted before the exam but someone forgot (or thought it would be ok, she changed her mind whilst we were talking to her) and the problem should not happen again in the other exams he is to use a laptop for (6 of them out of the 13 he is taking). We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Warm olive oil poured into your ear and left to soak will get rid of most things, especially wax. If the ear is sore, you may have an infection and if so, get to your GP before it gets any worse.
