I don't know as it will be any good, it is just something I bought in my "determined the brat wouldn't suffer cos I had left her Da phase". I think she played it once.

Still it might do a turn until you get something more up to scratch

Huge thanks....and something is better than absolutely nothing (or air keyboard as I call it :rotfl:)

So does anyone have any suggestions on what I can ask for for my birthday? I am literally scratching my head over this and it the questions are getting ever more desperate from my family.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

What kind of book do you read?

And what are your feelings about copyright law?

    For your birthday...........

A really good friend of mine gave me a photo album for my birthday. It sort of went through the ages and on the "other page" was a letter from a relative or a friend talking about the time the photo was taken.

It is one of my most treasured posessions

Just had a look on e-bay Sue. Quite a few up to £50. Casio, Yamaha, all have a decent piano sound.

Umm, nothing sounds more like a piano than an actual piano.

It might be worth sending a letter into your local paper. Loads of little auld ladies desperate to offload their pianos free to a good home.

    Trust me, I have Aunties:cool:

Lol..a piano may sound like a piano but they are also very large and my house not so large. It would really need to be portable as well, so a keyboard would be the better option.

Will take a look Pobby, anything in particular I should look out for?

As for books, crime/legal/medical/psychological thrillers..I'm a sucker for James Patterson, Jonathon Kellerman, Faye Kellerman, Jesse Kellerman, Mo Ryder, John Grisham, Lee Child, Val McDermid, Mark Billingham and so many more. Fiction books which are based in fact, def not fantasy or lovey dovey books.

But a digital piano is lighter, can be moved, doesn't need tuning and most important...has the option of headphones

Thanks - said he could not do the job then obviously rang some mates and suddenly found 'he did have the staff' - but judging by the pace and quality of the work they are very much the 'b-string' :(

Maybe just having a bad day?

    I mean they even posted...

Sue, re the keyboard, we have an ancient Yamaha - second-hand, we inherited from OH's grandpa, who was a good pianist and chose it as it had a good piano-like sound. DD2 is learning on it now - a nice noise, but as michaels says, it does have the advantage you can turn it down low or use headphones.

I'm no expert, but it sounds just like a piano to me.

Or freecycle has loads of pianos, I've noticed.

How about an e-book reader? There are plenty of libraries in the UK where you can download e-books free of charge and read the latest titles by those authors, who tbh, are all best-sellers and likely to have queues waiting for their latest books in print form. For example:
