I would think this would be the address for reclaiming, or maybe for any queries, but the member I posted of above, if you leave a post to him, he should be able to confirm or will know of other direct address for you.

    Natwest
    Registered Office
    135 Bishopsgate

Thanks Di - you are a super star!

One last question, do you know who I should make the SARs cheque payable to? Is it Natwest Plc?

PS: I was told this address might make things quicker

    PPI Customer Concerns Team
    Royal Bank of Scotland Group
    PO BOX 833
    5th Floor

Its my pleasure, ask away lol :D;)

If this address have been recommended then I would use that one then for the PPI reclaiming, infact I am sure I did read a post that this is the suggested one, that's when I added the address to the address thread.
And I'm sure the address I posted is the one for SAR's but again maybe Natweststaffmember will confirm this for you.

Go for it and post it by recorded delivery.

    The very best of luck.

The address re Manchester is the team that deal with RBS/NatWest PPI claims.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

    Hi NSM,

    Thanks for replying.

I am thinking of sending the SARs to:

    NatWest Customer Relations
    FREEPOST NAT12685
    BOREHAMWOOD
    WD6 1BR

    and

Do you think this is the right approach?

So I am thinking I will send off the SAR and the questionnaire at the same time.

Do you know if Natwest is one of the more lenient one?

Finally, having read the posts do you think I have a strong case?

No is the answer, cos you are sending a SAR to Customer Relations and not the SAR team.

    PPI Customer Concerns Team
FAO Information Request Team Hardman Boulevard
    5th Floor, Hardman Boulevard
    Manchester
    M3 3AQ.

Just to correct myself, I am not saying No to the claim side. I have to be honest and say Di, is far more knowledgeable on the success chances on PPI claims than I am. There are a few publications from the FOS as to their approach but unfortunately, I have kept clear of the PPI forums unless asked for addresses etc,.etc,. My specialisation is on bank charges financial hardship rather than PPI so whilst I can give an opinion, it would not be right since I am a rare visitor to the PPI boards and I have never deal with a misselling complaint when I worked in the bank. I hope that makes sense.

    I totally understand!

Just an off chance, would you know if Natwest are one of the lenient ones? Or would they rather take it to the very end? (I appreciate that this would be your opinion and not facts, I won't hold you to it.

    Thanks for the address.

    Thanks for the address.

On the bank charges side of things they appear to be one of the less difficult nut to cracks in terms of the fact that they appear to follow processes how I would expect them to do. With regards to PPI claims, as I haven't been on the forums here then I would have to leave that to Di to give an opinion on that cos she would deal with those types of complaints over the long period and would know which institutions are difficult and which ones are not.
From simply the original post, I think you do have a case with regards to you not being told that PPI was optional. If there was a term that you could not claim on then it would seal the deal so to speak but even if there isn't one that doesn't make your claim any less valid either.
