I think a steamer is a steamer. I need a new one and think im gonna get this one

Mainly because its 3 tiered and all the bowls fit inside each other for storage.Good enough club member number 140 -
yes you are right a steamer is a steamer- but now there seem to be all these vitamin plus ones etc, i had a cheap one but destroyed it by melting it on the cooker!- dont ask
on my old one rice took ages , thought that the vit plus ones might speed that up a bit

I'm looking for a steamer too, but I'm going to get one of those Chinese bamboo ones, they're dirt cheap from Asda or a Chinese supermarket. they do a great job, & are easy to stow away instead of having another big electrical appliance to take up worktop space or lug out of a cupboard
also I think they look really nice0 -
that does look agood one actually - am now torn between your choice and this one:

The 3 tier Cookworks one in Argos is very similar to the one I have which is perfect for us and it only costs £11.97Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
I got my steamer from the morphy richards web site, 3 tier for £10.00 and free p&p, it was on the grabbit board a few weeks ago.I think they have put the prices up now to £14.54,which is still a good price, https://www.morphyrichards.co.uk look under special offers.0

Dont know if you noticed but that one hasnt got a rice bowl with it (you mentioned cooking rice)
Ive used 3 different steamers in the past and they all took ages to cook rice too.Good enough club member number 140 -

sorry went out before seeing your post
I did not notice that it says no rice bowl..ordered it at argos, SA then said about there being no rice bowl, but to be honest I thought this was strange as surely they all come with rice bowls -especially as it was orig meant to be £49.99! anyway got it and got SA to open it for me to check and it DID have a rice bowl! - however the steamers lid was different to the one in the cat and online - it is an older model which they are passing off as the newer 49.99 one!!!I actually saw the two tier model in currys for £20 so there is no way the 3 tier was orig £50.
so I returned it and got the vitamin plus one -more expensive but at least I know what model I am getting and i have read some good reviews on it-it's mean to be very fast at cooking so will give it a go. I hate ARgos - whenever i buy anything there is always something wrong with it0 -
