Does a registry office wedding look cheap an nasty?

I'm from NI too so can sympathise with the Protestant/Catholic church issue. If i was marrying the opposite i wouldn't be after a church wedding. Half the congregation will feel uncomfortable and some probably won't go to the ceremony.
Why don't you use one of the other registry offices? belfast city hall is lovely, and recently reopened for weddings are a refurb.0
