If anyone wants a TW AT car and TW AT house, they know where to find them, two of the biggest TW AT companies making money out of TW ATs. :j0

A TW home and a 3 series BMW in the Driveway - Now that's what I call Success.
They look so smart and well presented too. Modern day living at its finest.
Do you own a TW home, just wanted to know to see where your bias lies.

Sadly, I do not own a TW home. But I often pass through the glamourous TW developments and look with jealousy at all the successful TW homeowners and their fancy cars. They are successful people who have "made it", the sort I know we all aspire to be like. Frankly you only need to glance at one of those proud looking TW homes with the fancy car in the driveway and the brand new furniture inside to know the sort of people that live there - I like to call them the "successful, aspirational upper-middle class". Typically seen wearing Russell & Bromley shoes and wearing sunglasses in their hair. Sophisticated, mature, stylish.0 -

I have even seen many TW AT home owners wear Burberry, then you really see how they have made it! Some even wear the Mercedes badge around their necks! I'm very J too.
Ahhhh to think I missed out on staying in my TW AT home and could have down-graded to a 3 brain cell series TW AT car, what was I thinking?
Then I have asked myself if I was ever thinking when I bought the TW AT home in the first place. :rotfl:0 -

Oh dear, I do weep if you think this is success.
Most of these people will be in so far in debt they will never pay it back. They will also be the first to suffer once the current problems with the economy and the euro zone come home to roost, never mind Barclays artificially fudging libor so it was lower.
They will also be the section of society with the highest suicide rate as things go pear shaped.
Success can be measured in many ways, imho this is not one of them. I don't aspire to a TW home or a fancy car. The small estate my house was built on was by a local builder, it is a peaceful cul de sac, so you will never see me or mine as you drive through.
I am quite content at owning my own home, yes I have a mortgage but it is coming down at a rate that it will be paid off in the next couple of years. I do not have any other debt.0 -
I think you missed his sarcasm. And it was laid on pretty thick. More thickly than with a TW trowel.0

Some people do think like this though, I seem to work with a lot of them and it is quite saddening.0

Its ok, I know a few people like this too. They are often chavs in suits. Ifound many people who buy off plan are lazy, social climbing, self-promotingf!!kwits.
Give them a house they have to work on and they run like squealing pigs. They buy off plan, then when it gets like hard work, they buy another newbuild..usually through part-exchange.
The TW home and BMW 3 brain cell series car, that made me laugh my head off.You would not beleive how many morons drive these, sometimes second-hand orpassed down from mummy. They think they look rich if they drive a badge, it isstatus gone wrong.
We are still on a new build estate, along-side some annoying people who grewup on council estates and now desperately try to bury where they came from..Ifeel sorry for them.
There's no shame in where you come from, you shouldn't have to keep up withthe Jones's, we won't subscribe to this loony way. It makes us unpopular withthe in-crowd and they're BMW cronies.

Yikes. I am considering buying a Taylor Wimpey new build home. I know that this forum post was started a while ago so does anyone have recent experiences with them to share? My friend is a few months ahead of me in the buying process with them and so far so good but her house isn't built yet so obviously we have no idea about quality, snagging, after-sales etc... The house I am looking at is a TW townhouse. The price appears to be good and we are being offered a good range of incentives. They have already sold around 12 of this house type on the site and some went for 30k more at the start of the build. There are only 7 more of this house type to be built after the one I am looking at.
I would be interested to hear about recent experiences - particularly in the North East - and also about the costs of extras.
My essentials list is:
turfed garden
outside tap
shower over the bath (and tiled walls)
upgraded kitchen
upgraded hob and oven
My would be nice list is:
integrated kitchen appliances (washing machine and dishwasher only, want the fridge to be freestanding).
doorbell
alarm
light at back of house (garden) - is this possible?
built in wardrobes as the house has pretty much no storage cupboards (or is it cheaper to get a company in to do this later?)
Anything else I have forgotten?0
