naughty naughty lol but a good idea. Food is a big area I need to tackle and where my wasted money goes mainly.0
-
Yeah yukki, it's also where we spend a lot if we're lazy - not so much waste food, but overspend.
So, today I've applied for the freebie waterproof spray from the freebies board (I just threw an empty can away so would be handy).
I've managed to order two Christmas/birthday pressies for £4 when should've been £20+ via the Wallis glitch - if it works - but not holding my breath. This has been deducted out of our left over money already.
I've just checked Quidco too and we'll be paid at least £5.50 this month. We're due about £40 more but it's not been paid yet...

No surprise that the Wallis order has been cancelled already - oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. That's £4 extra in my pot!
I was just trying to look on freecycle again after joining a while back, but it's so flippin difficult to log into. I don't know why you have to have a Yahoo account - why can't they just do it through normal email addresses? I can never remember my log in details and when I do, it never seems to accept them. I give up!0 -
10p & 25p on the scratchcards tonight, 10 'spins' won on JJoy's game, resulting in a 60p win.
I'm feeling really down tonight. I'm in one of those moods where I can't be bothered to get up and do anything, nothing seems worthwhile and everything is a struggle. I need to snap out of it!0 -
So sorry you feeling down tonight, I now how you feel :-( hugs needed:)
I have had massive throw teedy out the pram moment tonight:mad: DS came back in rotten mood so he got a few home truths thrown in! now he's sulking big time cause he couldn't get his own way all this is because he's away at grandma's for the next 3 weeks:D and totally gets own way big time there always has.
I'm sure you'll have a lovely birthday next week even though your not going out:) and I'm sure your hubby will make it really special too.

Thanks Ruby, hope your evening improves too.
Well we've had a little luck tonight - I received a free £10 bonus for tombola on an old account, played it through and won just over £47 on the last game. :j As I no longer have a card registered with them it's coming by cheque though, within 14 days, which is fine. That will definitely help us this month, it may even mean we don't have to pay for the brakes with the credit card.0 -
Wow - another great bingo win. Maybe you should become a professional bingo player :rotfl:. I've seen a few people mention they got a BB birthday bonus, so maybe that will come through as well?
I had a couple of online MSs tonight and feeling rather tired so they took longer than they should have (and were delayed by essential viewing such as Masterchef!). I quite enjoyed doing them - it was just researching which is basically most of my day job.
I sympathise with you on April budgets. I looked at mine the other day and it wasn't good. A combination of too much spending on the CC in March and several household bills, insurance and council tax due in April are making my target look unachievable. I will have a better look at the weekend when I have more time. I don't get paid until next week and the end of the month brings in some MS money so I'm hoping I will have some surplus left over to set against the April bills.
Have you any plans for the weekend?Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000
Now: £173,2290 -
Well of course Masterchef is essential viewing Chocs! Although don't you think that some of the contestants on there this series seem a little, well, 'not very good'?!
It seems everyone's budget is going haywire this month too - I was speaking to someone else this morning who said who skint they will be the coming month and how much cars and household bills have cost lately.
Glad the MS money will help a bit though.0 -
It's my birthday today and I have the day off. This morning was lovely before hubby went to work - I had presents and breakfast made for me and lovely phone chats with my folks, but it's not as exciting since then I'm afraid! Nevermind, I'm not big for birthdays, not mine, anyway. I have been thoroughly spoilt by my family and friends though, I have lots of lovely books to read and to use to make cakey and crafty things, so I will be very busy! The best present of all though, is that my Mum is presently doing ok, this time last year she was in hospital and it was a day tinged with upset and worry. She phoned me from her hospital bed to wish me happy birthday and it was really upsetting to hear her in so much pain. Today she is not 100% but has some sort of life back, I hope and pray it continues.
So, tasks done today so far:
I've chased the student loans company for my documents back - I had to do this last year too. Thankfuly the loan is deferred for another year as I don't quite earn enough to pay ot back yet (it's an old style loan) but I wish they'd get their act together and just return payslips and bank statements like they're supposed to.
I've also phoned the 'non overpay' loan people as they've started sending correspondence to my old address again out of the blue. Apparently a lot of customers have had the same problem as someone pressed the wrong button somewhere...
I have also phoned the garage to get a quote for the brakes - it's going to cost more than we thought at £105 and that's with £4 taken off as he saw on his details (from past work) that it was my birthday! :rotfl:
I very kindly, was given some money for my birthday which will go towards this, meaning we only have to put another £30 towards it. Hubby won't like that I'm using birthday money, but I'd much rather do that than buy something else I don't really need and worry about how to pay for the car. Brakes are important after all! It means we won't have to put it on the credit card which is great.
I would like to take the car down now and get it done, but am having to wait in for this delivery of meat we've ordered - I have no idea what time it's going to show up.
If I get chance today, I need to pop out and get some shopping in. I have made a little list of what we need and the list will be adhered to! I need to withdraw £100 in cash sometime over the weekend for the grocery budget this month too.
Apart from all above, I've shredded lots of documents we no longer need and got rid of a bin bag of rubbish. There's a load of washing on presently - it won't dry on the line today as it's raining and miserable, so will have to go in the dryer. Hopefully the weather will be nicer tomorrow.
Have a good day all
